I am 48 years ex-servicemen with Bachelaor of Arts degree and retired as a JCO from Indian Navy. Please advice me the age relaxation for defence personnel in banking jobs.

I am an Ex-airman and served 20 years in IAF as a Junior Warrant Officer.Service giving to Retired/discharge soldiers the Graduation
certificate.In that those who are completed for 15 years is equal to graduate and there are eligeble for Group 'C" &'D' posts in state government.In my case I selected in Group II exam.In certificate verification they were not accepted my military graduation certyificate.Because TNPSC staff told my Military graduation is not equal to civil graduation like B.A.My question is whether Military graduation is equal to civil graduation or not? If not,instead of giving false certificate better to stop it.Because I selected for two times and neglected for above reasons.

The general age limit for appearing for all the Bank Examinations are like :

The age of General Candidates must be in between 20-30 years ,
For SC/ST Candidates there is 5 years relaxation ,
For BC category students the relaxation is set as 3 years ,
And for the Physically Handicapped Students the age Relaxation is about 10 years

And for Ex-Service-Men the Age Relaxation is exactly 5years .

All the Bank Examinations are conducted be IBPS every year .
IBPS -- Institute of Banking Personnel Selection .

And the Education qualifications are : -

The applicant must pass Inter / must pass or studying final year degree / engineering , which must be recognized by government of India .

Every ex servicemen will get a age relaxation of 5 years in every examination/recruitment.

and the reservation Quota will be based on OBC category.

Yes Relaxation is given to candidates who have been in the government service in their past in banking jobs.

As you belong to OBC Category and have done graduation in Arts , so you will surely get relaxation in Upper age for two reasons :

1) You belong to OBC Category

2) You are an ex-serviceman

As you are an ex-serviceman and have graduation degree in hands so the best banking job for you will be a job of the Bank PO.

The Bank PO Examinations are conducted every year by the respective banks and the IBPS.

But you have to consider carefully on the Basic Requirements for Bank PO Exams :

* You must have completed graduation in any stream from any recognized college/university.

* There is no minimum percentage of marks required in graduation , just a pass degree is required.

* Your age should lie in between 21-30 years.

* However , relaxation is given to candidates in upper age as :

a) For OBC Candidates : 3 years

b) For SC/ST candidates : 5 years

c) For Ex-Serviceman : 5 years

So , from the above mentioned , you can understand that if your age is below 35 years then you can definitely appear in the banking exams.

Ignou is providing degree/diploma certificate to the personal serving in Indian Air Force as a Combatant member...is the degree equivalent as par with civil degree issued from universities

The age limit for clerical and Probationary officer post in banks:

1. General candidate for clerk: 20-28 years.

2. Probationary officer: 20-30 years.

Five years upper age relaxation is provided to candidates of Ex Serviceman. You can not apply for these posts but Ex Serviceman can get jobs as Security guards in banks at age of 47 years. You can apply for that post or a jailor in Indian jails.
