The district of Puri is located in the Indian state of Orissa, whose present name is Odhisha. The district is popular for moderate climate, sea-scape beauty, architectural grandeur and religious sancturaries. The district has the popular Chilika Lake that holds picturesque beauty. Medical College:

Gopabandhu Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Puri came into existence in the year 1949 and the college offers Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery course with affiliation from the Utkal University located in Bhubaneshwar. For getting into this five and half year course, candidates must have completed their 10+2 in science stream with biology, chemistry and physics subjects securing not less than 50% of aggregate marks. The institute is permitted with an intake capacity of 40 students per year for this course.

General College:

Government Women’s College, Puri came into existence in the year 1961 as a private educational institution with its name as Christened Mahila College and the Government of Orissa took over the college in the year 1965. The college began to offer honors courses in the year 1970 and junior government women’s junior college was established in the year 2001. The college is offering arts courses with affiliation from the Utkal University. Some of the subjects offered in the arts stream are Sanskrit, Oriya, mathematics, history, psychology and economics.

ITI:

Government ITI, Puri came into existence in the year 1966 and the institute offers training courses like craftsman training, skill upgradation training and apprenticeship training. The institute offers courses in the following trades with approval from the National Council for Vocational Training:
