The GIC Assistants exam is carried out to get recruited into General insurance company of India. This exam is mainly held in order to recruit qualified candidates to the post of Assistant Cadre. The selected candidate will be employment in any one of the company such as New India Assurance Company Limited, National Insurance Company Limited etc. Other companies which recruit candidates are United India Insurance Company Limited and the Oriented Fire and General insurance Company Limited.

Structure of the G.I.C. Assistants Exam

The GIC Entrance test is carried out in two stages. These stages of exam include written test consisting of objective type question and also explanatory type questions. The time allotted for the exam will be for 2 hours for the objective and one hour for the explanatory questions. In the given period of time the candidates will have to attend most of the question.

Syllabus of the G.I.C. Assistants Exam

The objective type questions are from Test of reasoning, English language, arithmetic ability, secretarial aptitude and general knowledge. The descriptive type questions will have questions like letter writing, essay and précis writing. For the reasoning section areas like data sufficiency, odd man out, cause effect will be asked. Also there will be questions from statement implication, analogies, coding and decoding, etc. The English language section covers reading comprehension, preposition, synonyms, grammar and its usage etc. The Numerical ability section covers Numbers, algebra, trigonometry, percentage, time and distance, profit and loss, etc.

The General knowledge section covers the syllabus of history of India, scientific aspects, General science, current affairs in India and around the world etc. The candidate has to write essay on the given topics. They will check your vocabulary skills and grammar.
