How to Prepare for Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MAH CET)?

MHA CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test) is conducted by DTE (Directorate of Technical Education). The MAHCET is conducted for admission into post graduate management degree PGDM and MBA courses. There are more than 200 institutes of various universities in Maharashtra is admitting the candidates through this test. There are 60 seats available in all these institutes.

Candidates from India can apply for this test. The candidate should have done bachelor degree with minimum of 50% marks from the recognized institute or university. Those who have completed their final degree exam also can apply for this test. The Entrance test is normally conducted on the last week of February.

Structure of the MAH CET

The basic structure is as follows

  • 200 objective type questions
  • Multiple choices
  • Duration is 150 minutes
  • Maximum of 200 marks
  • No negative marking

There will be questions from

  • Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
  • Quantitative Analysis
  • Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency
  • Reasoning Ability

Syllabus of the MAH CET

The verbal ability section covers grammar part like preposition. There will also be synonyms, idioms and phrases, etc. The Reading comprehension section will have some questions to answer. These will be on the basis of the passage.

The quantitative analysis section covers the syllabus of percentage, profit and loss, numbers, complex numbers, probability, time and distance. The data interpretation and reasoning section covers the syllabus of coding and decoding, analogies, data sufficiency, etc. Both the sections are designed based on the logical theme.

Reference Books for the MAH CET

There are quite a few books available for reference. There are some specialised authors. Like for Grammar and Comprehension Wren and Martin are quite popular. You can also purchase books by R.S Agarwal for the Quantitative and DI/DS section.

Study Plan for MAH CET

Preparation of time table is a must. Allocate time for each section. They have to read newspapers and magazines everyday. They should study many vocabularies as well converse with others in English language. This will improve their language skill. They should practice many mock tests and should go through previous year question papers. Some questions may be repeated. They should start their preparation earlier so that they can cover the portion soon. They will get more time for revision and can practice many mock tests. The mock tests will help to know their preparation level and can rectify their mistakes.

    Sir had not taken maths in 12 but i m doing bca from sikkim manipal university there is 2 maths subjects 1 in sam 1, and 2 one in sam 2. Is i m eligible for MCA.Sir
