Konkan Education Society’s Engineering College, Raigad
Konkan Education Society’s Engineering College is an unaided private college, which is a part of ’’THE KONKAN GYANPEETH TRUST’’. P. N. Dharkar established the college in the year 1989, which has 6 engineering departments presently with over 1,300 students taking the courses. The college is a renowned one with students from all over the country studying out there.
Campus
The college campus is large and well maintained, with area spread over a sprawling lush green campus in the outskirts of the city of Mumbai. The institutional building is separate with the administrative block. The institutional building houses various classrooms equipped with modern facilities like projector screens, and other amenities, along with well equipped and highly modern laboratories for the students to work on. Workshops are also present for the mechanical work required. A library is present with a large reading room, which contains over 1 lakh volumes of books and periodicals, and housed in a separate building. Hostel facilities are provided to both boys and girls separately with a carrying capacity of over 500 students.
Courses Offered
The institute offers B. Tech in the following branches Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Production Engineering.
Admission Procedure
The students are selected through their performance in the Maharashtra CET and also the AIEEE examinations. The college also fills seats based on the management quota but the students should have appeared in any of these examinations.
Placements
The college is a renowned one and has excellent placements in various fields and places. Companies like TCS, CTS, Infosys, Wipro, Bosch, Nokia-Siemens etc. visit the campus and recruit its students. The institute has over 80% students placed in the campus interviews, and the rest opt for higher studies in some of the premier institutes of the country.
