Punjab is a state located in the northwestern part of the nation and the state is bordered by the Indian states of Rajasthan to the Southwest, Haryana to the south east and south, Himachal Pradesh to the east, Jammu & Kashmir to the north and the Pakistani Province of Punjab to the west. Capital of the state is the city of Chandigarh and after the partition of Indian in the year 1947, the Punjab Province of British India was separated between India and Pakistan.

Further, the Indian Punjab was divided in the year 1966 with the formation of new states of Himachal Pradesh and Haryana and this is the only state in India with major Sikh population.

Major cities in Punjab:

The state of Punjab includes major cities like Chandigarh, Mohali, Bathinda, Jalandhar, Patiala, Amritsar and Ludhiana. The state has many prominent institutions in these cities for offering the best educational facilities to the students in all major cities in the state.

Legal education in Punjab:

Like other states in India, law colleges in the state of Punjab also offer LLB course as a three-year course and as integrated five-year course as well to aspiring candidates and admission is offered to five-year integrated course to candidates with higher secondary qualification and for three-year course admission is offered to candidates with degree or PG degree in any discipline. Law colleges offer admission to the students on the basis of marks secured by candidates in the common law admission test.
