List of Homeopathy(P.G.) Entrance Exams
Homeopathy is a very ancient form for alternative medicine. It originally began in Germany. Patients who take homeopathic treatment are given heavily diluted preparations of chemicals that are supposed to cause similar symptoms in the body of a healthy person. It works on the theory of stimulating the body’s resistance to cure itself by providing small doses of highly diluted substances.
There are many PG institutions that offer excellent higher education opportunities for graduates through their Post Graduate Entrance Examination. Those candidates who are selected will be posted in homoeopathic Medical Colleges. The subjects available in MD Homeopathy are Materia Medica, Repertory, Organon of Medicine & Homeopathy Philosophy.

Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must have a BHMS Degree of 5+1/2 year course plus one year obligatory internship from any acknowledged CCH University and a permanent registration from State Council/Board of Homeopathic System of Medicine or a BHMS Graded Degree or equivalent degree in addition to a course of study of not less than 2 years according to the II Schedule of the act.
Career Prospects
A homoeopathic practitioner can find employment both in India and abroad. They can find employment as medical officers in both the government and private sectors. Candidates who have finished the course successfully can also start their own shops of homoeopathy medicines. Homoeopathic doctors can also work as a Professor in homoeopathic colleges or do research. The initial salary for BHMS graduates in government Homoeopathy hospitals is around Rs.8000. The salary of College Professors who teach Homoeopathy is more than Rs 8000/- each month. The remuneration of practitioners who practice privately depends completely on the effort they put in and their professional reputation. Committed and experienced practitioners can earn more. A BHMS graduate working in the private sector can earn more than what he could earn in the government sector.

My son got admission in BHMS at National Institute of Homoeopathy, Kolkata. Since these results were delayed, he has already joined Mechanical engineering at IIITDM, Kancheepuram. But he was interested in medicine. In spite of getting an All India rank of 6537 he could not get MBBS seat. Is it worth shifting from Mechanical engg at IIITDM to BHMS (Homoeopathy) at NIH, Kolkata? Please advise.
