Assam University has its campus located in dargakona spreaded in an area of approximatley 600 acres. The university was established in the year 1994 under the Assam University Act, 1989 under the Government of India. It has astrength of around 240 faculty members with nince schools under it. The university offers various courses such as Physical Sciences, Information Scienices, Social sciences etc. There are overall 29 departments in these nine schools under Assma University.
