What is taught in this paper?

The paper of the Bio-medical is a rich paper and it contains studies of various diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices ranging from clinical equipment to micro-implants, development of biocompatible prostheses, regenerative tissue growth, common imaging equipment such as MRIs and EEGs, pharmaceutical drugs and therapeutic biological.

Importance of Biomedical Instrumentation:

The subject of Biomedical Instrumentation is combined study of use of technology of computer and other devices such as optical analyser and x-ray in bio-medical as clinical and biomedical research. The physiological research including ultrasonic blood flow measurement, implanted cardiovascular instrumentation is due to the subject.

Paper Pattern:

The paper of Biomedical Instrumentation is a subjective one and there are 7 questions in the paper. A candidate is needed to solve the 5 questions from it and 1st question is compulsory. The questions are of equal marks and all questions are divided into 2-3 sub-questions. The questions asked are repeated from the previous year’s paper, so candidates are required to solve them properly.

Some questions asked are such as Principle and working of electromagnetic blood flow meter, Tick’s principle, dilution method of measuring cardiac output, thermistor linearization, Doppler shift, biomedical application of instruments, application of LVDT, application of ultrasound etc.

Marks and time:

The paper of Bio-medical instrumentation is of 100 marks and time given for the paper is 3 hours only. Each question is of 20 marks and each question is divided into 2-3 sub-questions.
