The degree of engineering in the branch of electronics is in a good demand. The development in any sector is directly related to the electronics sector. The different government sectors also need the electronics engineers for their different fields.

Paper Pattern:

Questions in the paper of Digital Communication and coding techniques are technical ones and so it requires a good knowledge of the paper. The paper contains 7 questions and 5 are to be attempted from it. Questions are further divided into 2-3 sub-questions. Question No. 7 is short notes and out of 4 short notes, 3 are to be solved. The questions in the paper are required to be solved with relevant diagrams.  Question No. 1 is compulsory and rest 4 are to be solved from the remaining questions.

All questions asked in the paper are from syllabus. The questions asked are such as Channel coding theorem. Rationale for coding and types of codes, Discrete memory less channel , some Algebraic concepts, Digital Modulation formats , coherent and non-modulation. Digital modulation techniques-BPSK, Modifications of BPSK, QPSK, and Spread Spectrum Modulation –Pseudo noise Sequences, Processing Gain and Jamming etc.

Total marks and time allotted:

The paper is of 100 marks and students are given 3 hours to solve the paper. Each question is of 20 marks and most sub-questions are of 10 marks.
