System Information and Network Security papers deals with the security issues which have risen in system software and information stored in a particular system.  The paper deals with the threat and problems of a system and tries to cope with it. In every organisation, there is a need of network security to prevent online threat.

Which pattern is followed? :

The paper of System Information and Network Security contains 7 questions in it generally. They have to attempt 5 questions from the given 7 questions. All questions are compulsory to be attempted. Each question is of equal marks and these questions are divided into 4 sub-questions. Last question is of short notes and 4 notes are to be solved from there.

Questions asked often:

The paper contains questions such as Symmetric cryptography,  Non-repudiation, all steps in DES algorithm, concept of Caesar Cipher, Authentication’ and ‘Encryption’ in the context of system security, Kerberos,  IP Security,  RSA Encryption Trojan Horse, Smart Cards,  Physical threats and security, PGP, Logic Bomb,  importance of digital signature in banking and insurance sector, brute force attack, HTTP,  Internet Mail Standard, Digital Signature Certificate, Software project scheduling, Interface standards etc.

How to tackle the exam pressure? :

Candidates are required to at-least revise the entire syllabus for one time, important questions which are asked more often should be practised 2-3 time. Candidates should try to avoid reading new topics before the paper.

Marks Assigned:

The paper contains 100 marks in it.

Time allotted:

Time allotment is 3 hours only.
