Nirma University Institute of Science came into existence in the year 2004 as a constituent unit of the Nirma University and the institute offers PG and Ph. D courses in the field of science. The institute is a most sought in after institution among the students belonging to the state of Gujarat.

Institute of Science of Nirma University offers the following courses:

Eligibility Criteria:
As far as Ph. D admission is concerned, candidates must have completed their PG or equivalent degree in appropriate subjects with not less than 55% or equivalent grade there of. If the PG course has been completed by the candidates from any other university other than Nirma University, they must get eligibility certificate from the Nirma University. The eligibility certificate can be obtained by such students on payment of Rs.500 to the university.
For admission to the Master of Science courses, candidates must have completed their UG course either under 10+2+3 pattern or under 10+2+4/5 pattern of education with not less than 55% of aggregate marks in any of the following disciplines:
• Biomedical engineering
• Physiotherapy
• Biotechnology
• BAMS
• BHMS
• Medical lab technology
• Genetics
• Bioinformatics
• BDS
• MBBA
• Agricultural veterinary, fisher/diary sciences
• Pharmacy
• Biotechnology
• Environmental sciences
• Life sciences
• Microbiology
• Zoology
• Botany
• Biochemistry
• Chemistry
If a candidate, has completed any of the above-mentioned courses from other universities, they will have to obtain no objection/eligibility certificate from the Nirma University.
Selection Procedure:
Admission of students to the Master of Science courses will be done based on the marks secured by the candidates in the entrance examination conducted by the Nirma University. The test will have UG level questions on biosciences, biotechnology and chemistry. For Ph. D courses, admission of students will be based on entrance test in case a large number of students appear for the same course.
