Nirma University of Science & Technology, Ahmedabad
The Foundation of the university due to which the university has come into being is the Nirma Education and Research Foundation came into being in the year of 1994 and it was as early as 1995 the institute of technology of the foundation became one of the most important institutes along with the other institutes like the B- School, Diploma studies school, institute of pharmacy, institute of science and institute of law earning name in their respective fields. These institutes have been established from time to time under the foundation. The university starting from just the under graduate courses has now become the premier most institution for every field they cater to serving to their best of abilities.
The work of the foundation has forced the government of Gujarat to recognize the university in the month of April 2003. Today the university stands granted accreditation by the UGC.
The campus of the university is spread over the wide area and beautiful landscape covering an area of 110 acres. The campus holds the huge educational blocks owing to the different independent departments of the university. The campus is a high- tech one covering all the basic amenities of the university from laboratories to canteen, computer centers, library, hostels etc.
The university today deals with 6 different faculty departments and has been working to the best of their ability. These faculties fall under the head of technology, management, diploma studies, pharmacy, science and law. All these different faculties have been offering the enrolled students under graduate, post graduate and diploma courses.
The admissions to this university like the other ones are readily done through the filling up of the application form at the university campus or by post. These application are scrutinized based upon the different qualifying parameters and the resulting merit rankers are enrolled to be the part of the university.
