Punjab Technical University has a major standing and contribution to the arena of the Technical based Universities. It provides technical education in almost all the disciplines. Rock Mechanics and Engineering Geology Paper is included in the curriculum of Civil Engineering in the 4th Semester.

Division of the paper:

The paper observes a total of three parts, called Section A, B and C.

Paper Pattern:

The paper of Rock Mechanics and Engineering Geology (CE-210) carries three sections. The foremost section offers ten short based questions, and the section and every question of it are compulsory to attempt. There are a total of five questions in the 02nd section, but only four have to be attempted. Furthermore, the 03rd section observes a maximum of three main questions, and only two have to be attempted. Thus only the 01st section has no Internal Options.

Markings:

The Theory paper carries a maximum of sixty marks. The first section offers 20 marks, with each of the main question stands to two marks. The second section offers 20 marks, with each of the main question stands to five marks. The third section also offers 20 marks, with each of the main question standing to ten marks. The Internal Assessment part carries forty marks. Thus the paper as a whole carries 100 marks.

Time allotted for the examination:

The maximum time allotted by the University in order to complete the exam is three hours.
