About the paper

Computer aided design and manufacturing deals with the designing process and eliminates the artificial obstacles that are between traditional product manufacturing process and design. This is one of six papers included in the course of Production Engineering for M.Tech in the 1st semester. The minimum cut-off must be cleared to qualify for the 2nd semester.

Syllabus of the subject

Computer Aided Design & Manufacturing code is PE 505. Its curriculum includes basic concepts of CAD/CAM tools, hardware and software, mathematical representation of curves, solids and surfaces and geometric transformations. It is a very needed subject for Production Engineering.

Pattern of the question paper

PTU M.Tech in Production Engineering Computer Aided Design & Manufacturing paper consists of eight questions. Out of these 8 questions 5 are to be answered. Each questions if of 20 marks and contains sub-parts. The questions cover the entire syllabus and are well distributed. Generally descriptive question are included.

Time allotted and total marks

This 1st semester paper of Production engineering is a 3 hours paper. Total marks allotted for it is 100 marks. The questions are of equal marks, that is, 20.
