Northeast Frontier Railway has five divisions namely Tinsukia Railway Division, Rangiya Railway Division, Lumding Railway Division, Kathihar Railway Division and Alipurdaur Railway Division. It is responsible for operation of rail service in the entire northeaster parts of the state of West Bengal and Bihar.

Recruitment by North East Frontier Railway:

North East Frontier Railway is planning for recruitment of Para medical staff on contract basis against vacancies existing in para-medical category of Northeast Frontier Railway, Maligaon and its divisions through walk-in-interview. The vacancies are going to be filled on contract basis and here are the details regarding the notification issued in this regard:

Name of the Vacancies: Staff Nurse and Lab Superintendent

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 13, which is divided among the different divisions of North East Frontier Railway as follows:

• Staff Nurse - 11

o Alipurduar Division – 01 (SC)

o Lumding Division – 04 (OBC-01, UR-03)

o Katihar Division – 05 (SC-01, OBC-01, UR-03)

o Tinsukia Division – 01 (OBC)

• Lab Superintendent - 02

o Head Quarter – 02 (UR)

Remuneration: Being a contracted position, candidates appointed for the position of Lab Superintendent will be getting a monthly remuneration of Rs.17145/-, while staff nurse will be getting a monthly remuneration of Rs.17655 per month.

Eligibility requirements:

Educational Qualification:

Staff Nurse: Candidates should be registered nurses and midwives with three year course completion in general nursing and midwifery from a nursing school or other institution approved by the Indian Nursing Council or candidates must be B. Sc degree holders in nursing.

Lab Technician: Candidates must have completed B. Sc in life science/microbiology/biochemistry or equivalent with diploma in MLT or equivalent qualification or B. Sc in MLT from the recognized institution.

Age: For the position of Lab Superintendent Grade III, candidates must be between the age group of 18 and 33 years as on the 1st of January 2011, while for the position of staff Nurse, candidates must be between the age group of 20 and 40 years. Upper age relaxation of five years and three years is applicable for SC/ST and OBC candidates respectively.

Lab Superintendent Grade III:
