Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation Limited is abbreviated as APGENCO and it is the largest power generating company in the state of Andhra Pradesh and it is the third largest power utility in the nation. It also has the second highest hydel capacity in the nation and it aims at becoming the best power utility in the country.

Andhra Pradesh Power Generation has invited applications from eligible engineers for the position of Trainee Assistant Engineers from different branches of engineering like civil, electronics, mechanical and electrical engineering and here are the details regarding the notification issued in this respect:

Name of the Vacancy: Trainee Assistant Engineers

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 411, which is divided as 61 vacancies for limited recruitment and 350 vacancies for general recruitment. The total 411 vacancies is divided among the different branches of engineering as:

Electrical – 219

Mechanical – 100

Electronics – 30

Civil - 62

Pay scale: Selected candidates, will be coming under the pay brand of Rs. 23115-955-25025-1115-30600-1280-35720.

Training: Selected candidates will have to undergo training for one year and during this period, they will be paid initial scale of pay of assistant engineering with usual allowances admissible at the place of training.

Eligibility requirements:

Education: For each branch of engineering mentioned earlier, candidates must possess Bachelor of Engineering/technology/AMIE in appropriate disciplines or its equivalent qualification from the recognized university as on the 1st of December 2011.

Age: Candidates should not be more than 34 years of age as on the 1st of December 2011 and upper age limited will be relaxed by 5 years for BC/ST/SC candidates and 10 years for PH candidates.

Selection Process:

Selection will be based on marks secured by candidates in written test, which is planned to be held on 22nd of January 2012 and the minimum qualifying mark in the written test is 30% for PH, SC/ST candidates, 35% for BC candidates and 40% for OC candidates. Application and examination fee:

Candidates belonging to other states and OC candidates of AP, should pay registration fee and examination fee of Rs.500, PH/BC/SC/ST candidates will have to pay Rs.150 through any of the online centers of AP and should obtain the receipt with journal number (12 digit), which is essential for online submission of application. Last date for payment of registration fee is 03rd January 2012 before 13.00 hrs.

Candidates will have to apply online after payment of registration fee through the website of the corporation at http://www.apgenco.gov.in or through http://apgenco.cgg.gov.in before 03rd January 2012 at 23.59 hours.
