The first and foremost criterion for any student for entering into the field of medical science is to appear in a medical entrance test conducted by a University. The state of Uttar Pradesh provides a platform for the medical students to enter into the field of medical science. Uttar Pradesh Combined Medical Entrance Test (UPCMET) is conducted every year by the Unaided Medical Colleges Welfare Association (UPUMCWA) to provide an opening for the medical student’s .the test conducted by UPUMCWA is unique. It has got its own rules, regulations and eligibility criteria. To procure admission in top institutes in UP, it is mandatory to appear in the Uttar Pradesh Combined Medical Entrance Test.

UPCMET Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criterion is not different from any other medical entrance exam. Class12th is the basic qualification required to apply for Uttar Pradesh Combined Medical Entrance Test (UPCMET). Students having a score of 50%in biology can only appear for the exam. They should also possess an aggregate of 50% in physics and chemistry. The main subject’s physics, chemistry, biology are the fundamentals of the exam and the applicant should be well versed in these subjects. The eligibility criteria are common for candidates from any category. There are no exemptions apart from some reservations according to the state government.

Age Qualification for UPCMET Entrance Exam

There is a compulsory age criteria for the applicant to apply for the exam. A candidate should be above 17 years of age for attending this exam. The maximum age limit is 25. Every year the test is conducted by the month of May. The authorities of the exam make sure that the brochure and other requirement to apply for the exam are made available by third week of February. The completely filled application should reach the authority before April last week. After conducting the exam on the month of May, the results are declared on the month of June after the proper evaluation of the OMR sheet.

How to Apply?

There are concerned centre’s authorized by the institutions, from where the application forms can be collected. The fee for applying UPMCET is Rs. 1000. Payment by cash or by demand draft is acceptable. For the convenience of the applicant the applications are available online and off-line.

UPCMET Exam Pattern

The questions in UPMCET are formulated in such a manner to test the knowledge of the candidate in the science subjects. Basically questions are from physics, biology and chemistry. The authorities also make sure that the applicants are good enough in their English language by including the questions to test their language. Multiple choice answers are provided with the questions .Candidates have to select the right answer from the given choices according to their logic and knowledge.
