Vivekananda Educational Society’s Institute of Technology is one of the premier engineering colleges in the city of Mumbai, and it’s known for quality engineering and technology education it is providing for the last 25 years. The institute works under the vision of Swami Vivekananda which states that ” Education is that process by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased, and intellect is sharpened, as a result of which one can stand on one’s own feet. ” The institute not only provides the students with excellent academic education, but also well balanced extra-curricular activities is also present, to see that the students develop on all fronts.
Campus
The spread of the institute is over a huge lush green area with various buildings. The main institutional block and the departmental buildings are well equipped with modern classrooms, and also with highly advanced laboratories and engineering workshops. In a separate building is housed the college library which accounts to around 1 lakh volumes of periodicals, and books, with a state of art reading room. A conference hall, along with one seminar auditorium is also present in the campus itself, along with well equipped hostels, which provide accommodations separately to both boys and girls, with a capacity of over 1000 students.
Courses Offered
The institute offers B. Tech in the following branches, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering , Electronics & Communications Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering , Information Technology and Electronics Engineering.
Admission Procedure
The students are selected through their performance in the Maharashtra CET and also the AIEEE examinations. For the post graduate courses, a valid JEMAT score is necessary.
Placements
The companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro and many other MNC’s and state based companies visit the camps to recruit students form the college. The college is a renowned one, with various companies visiting the campus, and placements up to 90 percent.
