ECE is one of the branches of engineering which is a gift of the modern need in the engineering. It produces a large no. of jobs for the students as the sector is flourishing every now and then.  The government sectors are also open for the students to get a job. There are also opportunities in defence sector.

What is taught in this paper?

The paper of telecommunication is about the study of devices and operations of communication devices. The network related different aspects are dealt with it.  The knowledge of communication devices are much required in the branch of ECE.

The paper of telecommunication is a vital subject as the knowledge in this field gives knowledge of communication devices.

Paper Pattern:

The paper of Telecommunication is a technical paper and contains both numerical questions and theoretical questions. There are 11 questions asked in this paper. The questions are divided into 3 sections; Section A is of 10 multiple choices questions and there are 4 choices for each question. Section B is of 5 short answering type questions and 3 from it are needed to be attempted. Section C is of 5 very long answering type questions and 3 from it are to be solved. These questions are divided into 2-3 sub-questions.

The paper contains questions such as circuit switching, store & forward switch technologies, principle of DTMF dialling, channel signalling, electronic space division switching, transmission media & its type, basic time division switching, SS7 signalling system, ISDN, distributed SPC, PABX, protocol stack etc.

Marks and time:

The paper is of 70 marks and time allotted is 3 hours only.
