i am haning only 58% in BE(mech).and i will pass all in dec 2010 as i am having backlogs.if i write gate exam what rank i must get to get a seat in jntu hyd for my M Tech.

you should have to get good marks as they does not have mention so you work hard .

58% will not matter if you know than you will be selected .

To get in Univrsity colleges like Jntu there should be a lot of hardwork from you..

there is no perfect measurement instruments to check which colg for a particular rank

year by year this will change

but according to recent stats..

one thing can be understood ...you will have a lot of competition..to face for a single seat..

the average rank to get a University colg is

2500-3000 if you're general candidate..

reservations will be according to your category..

You have two ways to study M.tech in JNTU Hyderabad.

1.The first way is to going through the GATE examination.For this way you need to score well and get good marks.The cut off for JNTU varies from time to time i.e based on the number of members going through GATE and competition in the councelling procedure.You can get details about GATE in the following link

2.The second way is to going through the Post-Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test(PGECET) for M.E./M.Tech./M.Pharm./M.Arch./M.Plg.
conducted by Osmania University on behalf of APSCHE.So,you can even go through this examination if you wish to.The exam will be conducted in the month of June.You can get details about PGECET in the following link

to get admission in jntu college of engineering you have to write the Andhra Pradesh pgcet exam ,which is very easy compared to gate exam and an rank of below 30 will get you an seat in jntu very easily,
but if you want to write the agte exam then you would have to get an rank of below 1000 to get an seat in jntu , Hyderabad because its one of the top universities in the state of Andhra Pradesh with good demand among the students specially for the core branches ,
also you have to clear all your back logs before joining the college or else even though you get good rank in gate you will not get admission

If you want to admission in this college You work very hard b/c there is a tight competition.
In this college the air rank is in below 3000.
so have must got rank below 3000 to admission in JNTU.

if u r from general category it wil be difficult to get seat in jntuh.. otherwise u have chances
