Biotechnology students in India may find work in a government-based entity such as universities, research institutes or at private centers as research scientists/assistants.

Some major organizations employing bio-technologists in India are Hindustan Lever Ltd, Thapar Group, Indo-American Hybrid seeds, Bincon India Ltd, Bivcol, IDPL, India Vaccines Corporation, Hindustan Antibiotics, National Botanical Institute, National Chemical Laboratories, Tata Engineering Research Institute etc.

Biotechnology is a fast growing and promising field of study that progresses ahead through research and development. There is plenty of opportunities available in Biotechnology field. You can be into the roles of Research Scientist, Teacher, Marketing manager, Science Content Writer, Bio-informists, Quality Control or Production officer in the Food, Chemical and Pharmaceutical industry.

Private sector pharmaceutical companies generally offer Rs.12000- 20000/month to an entry-level PG.

Hello friend,
To make a successful career in the field of Biotechnology, you must acquire higher level of degree. The demand for qualified biotechnologist will be immense in the upcoming years and candidates with higher qualification will get more opportunities.
To pursue courses in biotechnology,you must select institute which has a good infrastructure, qualified faculties and good placement record. Since most of the institute in India offering biotechnology have poor infrastructure and less qualified faculties, the passed out students of such institutes are not able to go too far.
According to experts, more than 100 foreign firms will be outsourcing their research and development jobs to India and to be part of theses jobs, you will have to be highly qualified and deserving.
