CSIR net is different from NET (UGC - university Grants Commission National Eligibility Test ). ELIGIBILITY: You have to be finished your master degree. Coming DEC 25 th next NET exam is going to be held. All the best. |

Re: Are Computer Science students allowed to sit for NET exam? Yes, computer Sc students are absolutely applicable for appearing in the NET exam.It is usually done in the month of June. For this year, the registration has been over. You can visit the official website link at www.ugc.ac.in. Eligibility: Age: Not more than 28 years as on 01.06.2012(next year). A relaxation upto 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PH/VH categories and to women applicants. Educational Qualification: Students who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Sciences, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. are eligible for this Test. Re: Are Computer Science students allowed to sit for NET exam? eligibility criteria for NET M.Sc or equivalent degree , with minimum 55% marks for General and OBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST candidates, Physically and Visually Handicapped candidates and Ph.D. A candidate can also apply for the Test under RA (Result Awaited) category, if he/she is appearing or has appeared in his/her final year (III/IV Semester where Semester system is there) of M.Sc. or equivalent degree examination . Such candidates will have to submit the attestation format (given at the reverse of the application form) duly certified by the Head of the Deptt./Institute over his/her signature and rubber stamp (with address and name) from where the candidate is appearing or has appeared in the final year M.SC or equivalent degree examination. However, such candidates shall be admitted to the Test provisionally. They shall only be considered eligible for JRF-(NET)/LS-(NET), if they are able to produce the proof of having passed the Master’s Degree examination in the relevant or related subject with the requisite percentage of marks and within the stipulated time frame. The Master’s degree can be either in Humanities, Social Science, Computer science, Electronic Science etc. so, yes you are 100% eligible for NET EXAM.. |

Eligibility : Must have got at least 55% marks in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities recognised by UGC in Humanities and Social Sciences, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science Prefinal year students are also eligible to apply for the exam. You should not be more than 28 years as on 01.6.2011. A relaxation upto 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PH/VH categories and to women applicants. There is no upper age limit for lectureship. Examination Pattern It consist of three papers. Paper-I :: It is of general nature for assessing the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It is conducted to test :: reasoning ability comprehension divergent thinking general awareness. Paper-II :: Its consist of objective questions based on the subject selected by the candidate. Paper-III ::will consist of only descriptive questions from the subject selected by the candidate. |
