Re: Percentage of questions asked in AIEEE and IIT related to 11th standard? IIT-JEE and AIEEE are top most engineering entrance examinations of India. They include syllabus of Class 11 as well as Class 12 standard. Actually, nearly equal weightage is given to both classes and percentage of questions are nearly equal in the competitive exam papers. But if we see previous records, In AIEEE of 2011, 43.33% questions of Class 11 were asked and rest 56.67% of questions were from Class 12. So, there may be little variance among the percentage of questions asked but nearly (approximately), it is same. |

On an average it is seen that the portion of 11th class use to be 30-40 percent and rest from 12th class. There are many question that are based on two concept of two chapters. So, it is really difficult to suggest the exact trend. If you want to see the exact trend then you should look into the question paper itself. Good luck.................. |

You have to make your time-table so that you can give time for your school studies as well as for your IIT preperatioon. You can join the coaching classes for the weekend . As there is no such fixed trend but one can say that the ratio is 40%-60% from 11th & 12th class questions.So it is advisable to you to be well prepared from your 11th class syllabus as if you ignore it then your chances to crack these exams will be lesser than before. The important chapters from the chemistry are Equilibrium & Redox Reaction.So you are suggested to be well prepared from them. |

See both 11th and 12th standard syllabus are in the A.I.E.E.E. and I.I.T. examination. So approx 40% to 60% will come generally from 11th standard. So please don't leave the 11th standard portion. If you have a wish to score a good marks in these competitive exam then you don't have leave any chapter. Basically there is no fixed percentage that this percentage will come in these competitive exam from 11th standard. It is varies year wise. good luck. |

Major part of the question papers i.e both IIT,AIEEE consist of the the second year syllabus.There's no exact percentage given that how many questions come from the first year.But overall the percentage remains from 30-40%. For even the state level entrance exams major portion consist of the second year rather than the first year.You can roughly estimate the number of questions being asked from the first year by simply going through the previous year question papers.So,please go through the old question paper which am providing here. |

There is no such fixed trend for either IIT or AIEEE The first thing i would like to tell you that you need to cover the whole syllabus +1,+2 as one and prepare well for it, as there is no such way in which you can clear a national level exam like AIEEE or IIT by studying it sectionwise. Also there is no way of anticipating question paper..so just prepare in a holistic manner. However general analysis done by coaching institutes puts 11th weight-age around 35-40 percent. As such there is no hard and fast rule about how many questions will be from 11th standard syllabus and how many from 12th standard syllabus. Generally what you study in +2 is the advance level of +1 and thus you can say that in +1 you create a base above which you start understanding advanced level concepts. Also, it has been observed generally that the questions asked in competitive exams have concepts of more than one topic, ie, a physics problem question might have concept of mechanics+rotational+SHM and so on. So, you can't separate them from each other. Still sometimes direct questions carrying lower marks than others are directly single concept based , in this case you can distinguish them. It has been observed that approximate of 30% of total problems are from 11th course syllabus , approx. 55% are of 12th syllabus and rest are mixed problems(this is only approximation). I am attaching here the weightage wise topics list as observed in IIT-JEE examination 2010. So, I would suggest you to complete the whole syllabus which has been by the JEE atleast once.
