The courses in AFCAT for which you can apply are:

-Flying Branch
-Technical Branch
-Ground Duty Branches

In case of Flying Branch, your educational qualification should be B.E/B.Tech degree or graduate in any disciplane with the minimum 60% and age should be 19 - 23 yrs.

In case of Technical Branch, the educational qualification is aeronautical engineering with minimum 60%marks and age should be 18 - 28 yrs.

In case of Ground Duty Branch, your educational qualification should be post graduate or bachelor degree in any subject with at least 60% and age should be 20 - 27 yrs.

FINAL YEAR GRADUATES CAN ALSO APPLY.

But you are in 3rd year, so you CAN NOT apply this year, but you can apply next year.

AFCAT will be of 2 hours with multiple choice of questions, and the sections are:

1. Reasoning
2. Numerical ability
3. Verbal ability (English)
4. General Awareness, GK
5. General Aptitude

The number of questions would be around 100+..

I will advice you not to but any extra books for preparing AFCAT....

Because the syllabus of AFCAT is same as other competitive exams like MCA entrances, Bank PO, LIC etc...

So follow the entrance exam books of those exams and you can easily crack AFCAT.

you can also buy books for AFCAT preparation....

but the above books are enough to pass the AFCAT.

You don't need a list of books for that.

the questions are same.

Re: Eligibility criteria for AFCAT examination?

The AFCAT or the Air Force Common Admission Test is conducted for the following categories:

1.Technical Branch.
2.Flying Branch.
3.Ground Duties.

For the flying branch only final year students are eligible.

However, for the other 2 that is Technical Duties and ground Duties, both final and pre-final year students such as yourself are eligible.

Hence you can apply for Technical Branch and Ground Duties.

However last dates for applying are over and you cannot apply this time. So try next year.
