Re: Allowed Number of attempts for Civil Services Exam?

Dear Manoj,

The Civil services Exam is the most prestigious and one of the toughest examinations conducted every year in our nation.

The Union Public Service Commission [UPSC] holds the responsibility to conduct the Civil Services Exam every year.

The Civil Services Exam is conducted for the selection of candidates in the following departments :

* Indian Administrative Services

* Indian Police Services

* Indian Economic Services

* Indian Foreign Services

The Exam is conducted in three phases namely :

1) Preliminary Exam

2) MAINS Exam

3) personal Interview

## The Age Limit For Civil Services Exam :

## Number Of Attempts Allowed :

a) For General Candidates : 4

b) For OBC Candidates : 7

c) For SC/ST Candidates : No Limit

Since , your Date Of Birth is 03.02.1978 and you belong to SC Category so at present your age is over 35 years which means even if you belong to SC Category now you have no chance left to appear for the Civil Services Exam as they can only give the exam upto an age of 35 years.

This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want.

Hello Manoj,
As per the date of birth you have mentioned, your present age is 33 years and since you belong to SC category, you have got two more years left to write the exam and after that, you won't be eligible for civil service examination. The maximum age limit for candidates belonging to SC category is 35 years.

As far as number of attempts is concerned, there is no maximum llimit for candidates belonging to SC as well as ST category.

For more information, refer to the official website of UPSC.
