As you are in mechanical stream and you want to swap to computer science then it is not possible.. Another thing is it is too late to think about to change the stream.. Because you are in 3rd semester now, and one can change the stream after the 2nd semester and before the 3rd semesterIt is a great stream in engineering. It's demand never down in market. If you see the statics of year 2007 when IT market fall down due to precision maximum of IT's employees are forced to live company. But no one from core company is forced to live company. In this year also to many CSE (COMPUTER SCIENCE ENGINEERING) student do not get job but all student from ME, CIVIL, EE, CE department get job after completing course. |

Re: What to do to change from ME to CSE branch being a candidate of pursuing 3rd semester in ME? dear friend, As you have mentioned that you are from mechanical engineering and you want to change your stream to computer science, So sorry to say you that it is not possible.. Because you can change stream in between similar category streams, like you can change stream from IT to computer science, from computer science to ECE etc.. So, the change must be taken between two similar category stream.. As you are in mechanical stream and you want to swap to computer science then it is not possible.. Another thing is it is too late to think about to change the stream.. Because you are in 3rd semester now, and one can change the stream after the 2nd semester and before the 3rd semester.... But if you don't have any interest in mechanical , and you want to pursue the B.tech course in computer science stream then you can appear in IIT-JEE, AIEEE exam once again, after qualifying the exam you can take admission in a new college in a new stream... But in that case you have to start from the very beginning means from 1st year.. All the best.. |

Department change is possible only on 2nd year.If you are in 3 rd year then it is not possible. You want to change your ME department to CSE department.So you can give the application in the end of your 2 nd semester. But if your 1st and 2nd semester average is above 8.5(0ut of 10).Then it is possible. You are now 3rd semester student so it is not possible to change the departments. All the best |

Re: What to do to change from ME to CSE branch being a candidate of pursuing 3rd semester in ME? hello dear right now you can't change from ME to CSE branch being a candidate of pursuing 3rd semester in ME. generally the branch shifting mainly done after getting result of 2nd semester. on the basis of good marks in 1st and 2nd semester, some college provides few students to choose their preference department which he/she might not get during counseling. all the best........ |
