Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is an Indian government organization which will recruit staff members for the various posts in the various departments and ministries.Combined Graduate level Exam is conducted by the SSC once in every year

Eligibility Criteria:

Nationality:

Candidates should be citizen of India.

Education Qualification:

Candidates should be graduate from a recognized university.

Candidates should be secured minimum 60% of marks in graduation.

Age limit:

Candidates age limit should be 21 years to 30 years.

For OBC category age relaxation is 3 years.

For SC/ST category age relaxation is 5 years.

Selection Process:

This selection process is based on two phases:

1.Written Examination

2.Interview

In this year of 2013,SSC is going to recruit candidates for the combined graduate level,Junior translator,assistant Sub-Inspector,stenographers,recruitment of SAS apprentices,junior engineers.

Syllabus for the CGL examination and Assistant sub-Inspectors:

1.Written examination :

It consists of General intelligence & reasoning, general awareness, numerical aptitude and English comprehension( 200 marks- 2 hours)

2.Main written examination

It consists of Arithmetical ability, English language & comprehension and commerce/mathematics/statistics/economics(each 200 marks and 2 hours)

3.Personality Test/Interview

For Assistant sub-inspector,the main written examination consist only English language and comprehension for 200 marks.

A candidate who have minimum Graduation level of study can definitely eligible for applying this examination.....

From the year 2013 SSC has there is No minimum marks required to apply for SSC CGL(Combined Graduate Level).So Candidates having any marks of any category will be eligible to apply for SSC CGL Exam.Thus if you have 48% marks in Graduation Level then you are eligible to apply for SSC CGL exam,but the only condition is that you should passed out in Graduation course.
Eligibility details for SSC CGL Exam

~Educational qualification :-

-->>You should have a Bachelor degree from recognized university.
-->>Your bachelor degree course should be of at least 3 years and you should be passed out in this course.

The Eligibility for the SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level)Examiantion is as follows-:

Graduation irrespective of the percentage obtained is the Eligility criteria for most of the posts.

Some of the posts like Compiler & Statistical Investigator do ask for Economics/Statistics/Mathematics and Commerce as a subject in the graduation respectively.

While the most of the posts require only a graduation from a recognised university.


Age-> Minimum of 18 years and maximum of 27 years.

The pattern-:

It conists of three tier examination process,

Tier 1- consists of 200 marks as a written test.

Tier 2- Consists of 400 marks as a written test.

Tier 3- Consists of 100 marks as an Interview.


The dates for the submission of the Application for the said Examination is over as it was in Febraury.

You can wait till the next Advertisement is announced,till then you can prepare for it as you are very much Eligible for the SSC CGL Examination.

The Staff Selection Commission Conducts the Combined Graduate Level Examination every year.

The Basic Requirements for this exam are :

a) You must have completed your graduation in any stream from any recognized college/university.

b) You must have a minimum of 50% marks in graduation.

c) Your age should lie in between 21-27 years.

* There is also a relaxation in upper age of 3 years for those belonging to OBC Category and of 5 years for those belonging to SC/ST Category.

Note: If and wherever necessary, the examination may be held in 2(two) shifts for different batch of candidates Questions will be of Objective Multiple Type Choice. The questions will be set both in Hindi and English in respect of Parts A, B and C.



SYLLABUS
TIER-I OF THE EXAMINATION :

General Intelligence & Reasoning : It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc.
General Awareness : Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidates general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, scientific Research etc. These Questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.
Numerical Aptitute : The questions will be designed to test the ability of appropriate use of numbers and number sense of the candidate. The scope of the test will be the computation of whole numbers, decimals and fractions and relationships between numbers. It will test sense of order among numbers, ability to translate from one name to another, sense or order of magnitude, estimation or prediction of the outcome of computation, selection of an appropriate operation for the solution of real life problems and knowledge of alternative computation procedures to find answers. The questions would also be based on arithmetical concepts and relationship between numbers and not on complicated arithmetical computation(The standard of the questions will be of 10+2 level).
English Comprehension : Candidates’ ability to understand correct English, his basic comprehension and writing ability, etc. would be tested. (The questions in all the components A,B & D will be of a level commensurate with the Essential Qualification prescribed for the post viz; graduation).


SYLLABUS FOR TIER-II OF THE EXAMINATION :


Arithmetic Ability : This paper will include questions on problems relating to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental Arithmetical Operations, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion, Average, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Use of Table and Graphs, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time etc.
English Language & Comprehsion :Questions in this components will be designed to test the candidate’s understanding and knowledge of English Language and will be based on error recognition, fill in the blanks (using verbs, preposition, articles etc), Vocabulary, Spellings, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Completion, Phrases and Idiomatic use of Words, etc. There will be a question on passages and omprehension of passages also. (The standard of the questions will be of 10+2 level).
Commerce/Mathematics/Statistics/Economics for Investigator Grade-II, for Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation and Compiler for Registrar General of India, Ministry of Home Affairs.

Probability, Probability Distributions, Binomial, Poisson, Normal, Exponential.
Compilation, classification, tabulation of Statistical Data, Graphical presentation of data.
Measures of central tendency, measures of dispersion, measures of association and contingency, scatter diagram, correlation coefficient, rank correlation coefficient and linear regression analysis ( for two or more variables ) excluding partial correlation coefficients.
Concept of Population, random sample, parameters, statistics, sampling distribution of x properties of estimators and estimation of confidence intervals.
Principles of sampling, simple random sampling, stratified sampling, systematic sampling etc., Sampling and non-sampling errors, type-I and type-II errors.
Concepts of Hypothesis – Null and alternate, Testing of hypothesis for large samples as well as small samples including Chi-square tests ( Z, t, F, c2 tests ).
