Re: How to make a career in Banking?

Banking , its one of the dream for so many people to get employed in banking .
-> you need to complete your graduation with aggregate percentage and then notice the notifications in newspaper and apply for it according to the steps provided there mostly they will provide a website for applying and other details .
-> you must have knowledge in aptitude , reasoning and current affairs .
-> Score qualifying marks in exam , after that there will be small interview which you should
attend if you passed it that too. you succeed in becoming a bank employee.

Hi dear,

As you have completed your graduation from BSc agriculture so that will not be helpful to you in banking , but a degree in business administration or computers would add to your value , but it's not at all the important one's to opt for banking field as career ..

But i would like to tell you that you need to be skilled for choosing banking as career option ..

All the bank advertises the vacancies in newspapers as well as in employment news / rozgaar samachaar from time to time ...
the details are also made available on the official websites of the bank for which you wan't to apply as all banks conducts their seperate test for filling up the vacancies as there is no common test for them ...

the selection process consists of a written test followed by interview for the shortlisted candidates...

most of such exams consists of questions from :

-logical reasoning

-general awareness

and for such questions , i think that surekha tomar will be the best one ..

If you need to advance in your career , than many of the banks does provide help you get education which can surely save lot of your money and make an extremely valuable employee ..

Re: How to make a career in Banking?

Candidates get recruited at 2 levels in the banks - clerical level and officer level. The procedure of selection varies with nationalized and international banks.

Selection procedure for RBI- The Reserve Bank of India is the topmost financial institution in India which makes all the policies and regulations for the other banks. It conducts tests for three types of entry level positions:

Clerical grade
Grade A officers
Grade B officers
The entry point for clerical staff is in the cash department as examiners of coins and notes. They are promoted to the next grade when they successfully clear the relevant examinations after 5-10 years of service.

There is an All India Exam conducted for class I posts. Graduates, Post Graduates, CA's, MBA's in the 21-26 years of age group are eligible. The candidates are tested in logical reasoning, mental ability, numerical aptitude and general English.

The examination is in parts.

Paper I is a written test comprising of General Mental Ability (Objective type).
Paper II is a subjective one which has English Essays/Comprehension/Precise writing etc.
Paper III is on Economics and Social problems.
Selected candidates are shortlisted for an interview which forms the basis for the final selection.

Selection procedure for other nationalized banks- Anyone in the age group of 18-26 years having a degree is eligible for appearing in the written test. The format of the test is similar to the RBI examination. Test is followed by an interview. Clerical staff gets recruited through regional boards. The eligibility and test format are the same as for PO examination.

Selection procedure for nationalized commercial banks Commercial banks regularly advertise through their Banking Service Recruitment Board (BSRB) to recruit Probationary Officers ('PO'). Each region has its own BSRB which carries out the recruitment. Eligibility is a graduate in any discipline with an upper age limit of 28 years.

Banking has a vast scope for career to move ahead. Now a days recruitments are going on for following posts in Banks:
-Probationary officers(in majority)
-Banking clerks
-office assistants
-officer post for engineers and professionals
-manager

Among these you are eligible for the first three type of categories of jobs to apply in. Because officer-professional would require a BTech or any professional degree and manager post requires a MBA with atleast 2 years of experience.
