The scope of chemical engineers is so big because Chemical Engineers will always
be in demand and you don't have to worry about jobs. Chemical engineering would probably be the best branch for the future. With the high demand for energy, people
are looking for efficiency more than ever. This field is definitely the best for growth,
but there will also be competition in the job market.........

Which world r u all living in? Chemical engineers have good scope? Y r u guys misleading this poor questioner... Chemical Jobs are sparse.. Literally seen no where in today;s job market in india. There are only big names like ONGC, etc. who provide jobs to chem enggr. Check out for ureself how many vacancies they advertise. Hardly 18 to 20(includes quotas, etc. ofcourse). Dont play with ure career. Go for something that u have interest in and also which has good scope in today;s job market.

Research things urself, lissen to everyone, talk to every1. But do what you feel is right. Dont base your judgement on others.

Re: Scope of Chemical Engineering Branch in Future?

what i m posting here u not going to have in any blogspot sites
chemical is not a good branch to opt as the vacancy in psu r about nil
i have face 5 interviews of psu yet but unable to crack any one of them reason cannt be knowledge in this field otherwise i will be unable to crack psu written 5 time but the vacancy do matter in year 2009 sail has only 9 seat and in year 2010 only 5.drdo has only 20.gail has less than 20.iifco nil or 1 only
good company like ongc, hpcl, iocl it tough to crack as iocl take on basis of gate and my rank was 377(per.-97.04) in 2011 among 12994 but tough i have not receive any call 4 interview.in ongc i hardly known any one.to do mtech i also not a good option as company prefer btech instead of mtech and btech has large crowd
so i advice is to opt mech, elect, ece, comp sc perfer mech. even not in a good college as seat in psu come in 100es so a good chance to have handsome salary in government company

best of luck 4 ur carrier
