Re: How to prepare for IIT through self study? Try getting the video lectures of reputed institutes like Motion/Resonance/Bansal. Some don't come out with the videos for obvious reasons. Some have tied up with companies to provide videos like HCL/Motion. Try it out. Even though they are a bit on the expensive side, its a hell lot Cheaper than Kota!! plus they also have solution videos and AITS and stuff. |

IIT exam is considered one of the toughest exams to crack.For this you need to be thoroughly acquainted with the syllabus of CBSE and that too deeply.Since you want to pass the exam by self study,You need to devote yourself for this and need to clear your basic conceptsof mathematics ,physics and chemistry. You can follow good books like: Mathematics by M.L. Khanna Physics by Dinesh or Pradeep's Physics,Or by H.C.Verma Arihant's Chemistry. Good luck.............. |

As you are going for self study you will have to work a bit more harder than others. You should have someone to whom you can clear your doubts. 3. Revise what you have already learnt in regular intervals. 4. Try to solve as many problems as you can on paper rather than just reading its solution. 5. Books to refer Physics: NCERT, H.C.Verma Chemistry: NCERT, O P TANDON, PRADEEP OBJECTVE CHEMISTRY. MATHS: NCERT, R.D.SHARMA, ARIHANT Series. 6.. IIT JEE Preparation Tips:- • ITT JEE is one of the most difficult examinations at 10+2 level, one need to be excellent in all subjects. well..u have 2 attempts for IIT so even if u dont think u are prepared well-enough then also go n attempt the exam..u will know many things about it..and most importantly..have a good experience.. u should join a test series at least which will help u to know where u stand in the whole country before u actually face the exam.. u should go through ur NCERT book properly first.. then go to these books.. M.L.Khanna for maths.. P.Bahadur for Chemistry.. Concepts of Physics solve all their numericals and u will be assured of a great rank.. hope this helps..

Re: How to prepare for IIT through self study? IIT-JEE is the engineering entrance exam for getting admission in institutes like IITs.... You have to work hard to get into those institutes. The best option is to join a coaching center. Because in a coaching center you will get the environment of a school and teachers will always be there to clear your doubts and confusions. They will take mock tests and will give you study materials and valuable tricks and notes for the exam. So its better to join a coaching class, because self study is not enough for that. But one thing is, there will many other students present in those centers and they will also get the same notes, study materials that you will get. So you have to study for at least 6 7 hours a day by yourself at home...to become ahead of them. So join a good coaching center in your city and try to join those batch which has less students, so that teachers can focus on each and every student separately...... Actually for preparing IIT the work of self study has to be started in 8th standard if u hve done it then it is wel and good if it s not, start today itself take books like MATHS : M.L.KHANNA CHEMISTRY: ARIHANT SERIES AND DINESH SERIES PHYSICS : RESNIK AND HERDE read these books wen u get time and start preparing notes of your self and for previous years question papers try to collect magazines such as PHYSICS TODAY,chemistry today and maths today read these magazines they wil provide plenty of information and time saving results and extra concepts and model question papers and one thing s that u must search for a good coach if u hve to be a IIT ian any way best of luck from myself |

for cracking iit jee exam, not only hard work is required but strategy is also required for preparation. you must first study from ncert books to clear your concept. after that i will suggest you to study from tata mcgraw hills for maths d c pandey for physics arihant for chemistry you must also for once try to solve all the previous years question papers to get the knowledge of pattern and difficulty level of the exam. while solving the sample papers, never see the solution directly. first try to solve the questions by yourself two to three times. if then also you fail, then see the solution. you must remember these tips to get good result. good luck. |

Self study is not only the right way to qualify i think you have to join some coaching institute for regular classes or for correspondence course . I am suggest you to do some course from the following institute :- 1) brilliant tutorials 2) pathfinder 3) career point 4) narayana etc |
