GAIL CRITERIA

Age criteria= 35 years

Miniimum qualification:
Graduate Degree in following disciplines :
Mechanical
Electrical
Instrumentation Engineering.

GAIL written exam pattern:

Paper 1: Subject Knowledge Test - 100 questions.
Paper 2: General Aptitude Test - 50 questions.

The Subject Knowledge Test would be specific to your own branch/discipline and the General Aptitude Test would be common to all.

Duration for these 150 Objective type questions is two hours.

Negative marking - 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Written test qualified candidates would be called for GD/Interview.

The written test is a objective type and will contain 150 questions.
Duration is 2 hours.
The exam consist of two parts.
Part 1 : questions on Finance & Accounts
Part 2: General Aptitude
This consists of questions on Basic English, Computer, General Awareness
Paper 1 for 100 marks , paper 2 for 50 marks
There will be negative marks for every wrong answer.
The qualified candidates in written exam are called for interview.

Eligibility For GAIL:-

Educational Qualification:-


Minimum Graduate degree in electrical/mechanical/instrumentation Engineering.

Age Factor:-

Your age should be in between from 21 to 35 years.


The GAIL Examination Consist of:-

paper-1 of 100 marks
paper-2 of 50 marks

subjects asked

1.>General knowledge

2.>General aptitude

3.>Technical

4.>General English

5.>General ability

6.>Finance

7.>Computer

The subject knowledge test would be specific to your own branch and for the general aptitude test would be common to all duration for exam is two hours negative marking is also there 1/4

This year's GAIL exam has ended..you can apply for the exam next year..

You should be less than 28 years as on 30th September on the year of the exam..

You should have a minimum of 65% in your B.Tech..

GAIL exam mainly consists of logical reasoning,general knowledge,etc..

1. Materials and Components: Structure and properties of Electrical Engineering materials; Conductors, Semiconductors and Insulators, magnetic, Ferro electric, Piezoelectric, Ceramic, Optical and Super-conducting materials. GAIL written test will contain questions from the areas like General Knowledge, Qualitative Ability, and English, verbal and logical reasoning etc. The questions are relatively simple, only thing is that one has to thoroughly prepare for it. Technical questions are also asked which will depend up on the branch appearing. You can expect in depth questions on the stream of your choice with multiple answers.
