Re: How many times that a candidate of SC category can appear for GATE Exam?

Hi

GATE stands for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.

This exam is conducted by the IIT's and the IIM's to select candidates for the Master's in Technology courses in IIT's, NIT's, BITS, and other colleges.

Eligibility for the GATE 2012 :

1. A candidate should be a minimum graduate in B.E/B.Tech/ B.Arch from a recognized university or colleges to be able to apply for this year.

2. He/She should have done their graduation with a minimum aggregate of 60% and a relaxation of 10% is given to the SC/ST/OBC.

3. Pre Final year students cannot apply, but the Final year appearing students can apply for this exam.

4. There is no limit to the no. of attempts and age.

So you can apply for this exam as many no. of times as you want.

I am uploading the Official GATE 2012 Brochure. Please download and refer to it.

Re: How many times that a candidate of SC category can appear for GATE Exam?

Hi friend..

There is no restriction for number of attempts.
But if u qualify, GATE scorecard is only valid for 1 years from 2011 onword.
Normally, students prefer to write first time when they are in final year of graduation and later 2-3 times.
I feel when you complete graduation and then appear in the next year that is the most important attempt because ur preparation will be at peak.

good luck

GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering being jointly codnucted by Indian Institue of Science and 7 IIMs (Indian Institue of Managemen).

There will be no limit on the maximum number of attempts for GATE Exam for the candidates of any category unlike other entrance exams.

One can appear for GATE Exam as many times as he wanted.

And additional benefit that GATE Exam provides to candidates is GATE score is valid for a period of 2 years.

If a candidate has appeared for GATE Exam in two consecutive years, he can use the GATE score card which ever he wanted to get admission for M.Tech course.

Have good preparation for GATE Exam and crack the exam.

You can visit this website for updated information on GATEhttp://www.iitk.ac.in/gate/gate2012/index.php Exam.
