Dear pal, The qualifying mark for the exam differs from year to year and from branch to branch.If the question paper is easy with aspirants scoring more marks then the qualifying mark will be high.If the paper is tough then it is the other way. The qualifying mark is calculated using the formula a+s where a is average, s is standard deviation. For the OBC candidate it is 9/10 of the general for sc/st it is 2/3 of general qualifying mark Usually the mark is in the range of 20-30 for the OBC candidates |

Re: Expected cutoff in GATE M.E paper for OBC? hello dear GATE cutoff for M.E paper and other papers are vary year to year. last year 2011 GATE cut off was 27 for the general student. and was 21 for the OBC category students. this year gate qualifying cut off may remain within 20-25 marks(expected). all the best...... |
