Re: How much to score in CAT to get into IIMs? Sir/ mam, I have scored around 58% in my graduation and i am planning to prepare for CAT, so if i will be qualified for the GD/PI, then Will my graduation marks affect to get admissions into IIMs or IIFTs? |

Re: How much to score in CAT to get into IIMs? DEAR FRIEND  You have only one way to get for seat for IIM's. You can appear for CAT exam. Those candidate have completed graduation degree with above 50% marks are applicable for CAT exam but your degree must be recognized.For Sc/ST candidate the percentage is 45% in graduation. Final year student are applicable for this exam.There is no age limitation. This year cAT exam date already over so you can try for next year. I have listed here the approximate CAT score cut off of IIM's. >IIM Ahmedabad (IIMA)you should have around 99.3 percentile overall >IIM Bangalore (IIMB)profile based around 95 percentile overall. >IIM Lucknow(IIML)you should have profile based around 97 percentile. >IIM Calcutta(IIMC)you should have around 98.96 percentile overall >IIM Indore(IIMI)you should have around 98 percentile overall >IIM Shilong(IIMS) you should have 85 percentile overall <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<best of luck>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> |

You need to score atleast 98+ percentile to get into these colleges. once you get this percentile. you would be called for Gd and PI. You need to do well in GD and PI to increase your chance of getting selected. All the best |

Re: How much to score in CAT to get into IIMs? All the best for the study of BE now. First let us know how the scoring is calculated in CAT exam. The raw score is calculated for each section based on the number of questions one answered correctly, incorrectly, or omitted. Candidates are given +3 points for each correct answer and -1 point for each incorrect answer. There are no points for questions that are not answered. The raw scores are then adjusted, as necessary, through a process called equating. Equated raw scores are then placed on a common scale or metric to ensure appropriate interpretation of the scores. This process is called scaling. Three scaled scores will be presented for each candidate: an overall scaled score and two separate scaled scores for each section. As the two sections evaluate distinct sets of knowledge and skills, scores do not correlate across... sections. A high score in one section does not guarantee a high score in another section. Percentile rankings are provided for each individual section as well as for the overall exam score. If you want to get admissions in to IIM then you must score more than 96 percentile. Then only you are having chance to get admissions in to top IIMs.Otherwise it will not possible. Even if you scored more than 96 even though there will be no guarantee because huge competition will be there for IIMs. Its depends on your performance and the interview procedure. If you scored more than 90 percentile in CAT exam, then you are having a chance to get admissions in top business schools in India. This are also equal to IIM. But in this admission procedure competition will be less compare to IIMs. Here you are having a chance to get admission easily if you performed better in the admission procedure. Then you will be preferred first. I'm here to give the total information about your question. And 'ALL THE BEST' for your exam. |

Re: How much to score in CAT to get into IIMs? Dear aspirant, The cut off percentile of different IIM's keeps on changing year by year. It is based on teh no. of students applied for CAT. The cut off of 95 percentile is too much good to be relaxed in order to get a IIM's seat. The selection of best study material and your concepts will play a great role in deciding your rank in this exam. The selection of best books will play a great role in deciding your rank. If you have a good collection of books then your preparation will be better. Your rank will decide your position in the IIM because IIM's are the best B-Schools in India. Dear friend, CAT is conducted for admission in IIMs. Eligbility- student passed graduation in any discipline from any recognised university. but you will have to score above 95 percentile to get Call from IIM. BUt apart cat score IIM also see your 10th, 12th and graduation percentage. After watching these IIM calls student for group discussion and personal interview. after success in these all you are able to take admission in IIM. BEST OF LUCK |
