Eligibility Criteria For IAS (i) Age limits : 21-30 years as on 1.7.2011. (Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs and certain other categories as specified in Para 3(ii) of Notice). (ii) Educational Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physcs, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Enginerring or an equivalent qualification (Para 3(iii) of Notice). (more content follows the advertisement below) A D V E R T I S E M E N T (iii) No. of permissible attempts : Four (Seven attemps of OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs (Para 3 (iv) of Notice) (iv) Fee : Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only) (No fee for SCs/STs/Physically disabled only) best of luck ..

Hello friend, The age criteria for IAS and other civil service exams is as follows : 1) GENERAL CANDIDATE If You fall under the general category , your age should be between 21 to 30 years . 2) OBC CANDIDATE If you fall under the OBC category , your age should be between 21 to 33 years. 3) SC/ST CANDIDATE If you fall in the above mentioned category , your age should be between 21 to 35 years. The age limit for most of the civil service examination, is 21-30 years for the general candidates, there are 5 & 3 years for the age relaxations are applicable for the SC\ST & OBC candidates. i.e. 21-33 year for the OBC candidates,. 21-35 years for the SC\ST candidates,. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION- graduation degree from a recognized college, in any stream. This civil services examinations like -IAS,IPS,IFS are conducted by UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION [UPSC]. The civil service examination for IAS\IPS has three stages- 1.CSAT (CIVIL SERVICE APTITUDE TEST), 2.MAINS 3.INTERVIEW (PERSONALITY TEST). Re: What is the age limit for IAS and other Civil Services Exams? Dear pal, those aspiring to join the civil service need to write the exam conducted by the UPSC. Those candidates who are eligible can apply either online or offline. The eligibility requirement are 1. The aspirant should have completed bachelor degree in any discipline of interest 2. The aspirant should have completed 21 years of age . 3. The aspirant of general category not have exceeded 30 years of age, for obc it is 33. And for aspirant of sc and st category the upper limit is 35 within the age limit the aspirant can appear only a limited times. For a general candidates the number of attempts is restricted to 4, for obc aspirants the number of attempts is 7. But there is no restriction for sc and st candidates. The selection procedure for the IAS exam involves written exam personnel interview. The written exam involves preliminary and main exam . Those who clear preliminary exam are eligible for main exam. |

To appear in the civil services examination you need the following eligibility criteria. Educational Qualification = Graduation in any stream from a recognize University. The candidates under the OBC category have an age relaxation up to 3 years and should be between 21 years and 33 years. The age relaxation for candidates under SC/ST category is upto 5 years i.e the age should be between 21 years and 35 years. If the candidate had been domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir between January 1, 1980 and December 31, 1989 there is an age relation of 5 years. For ex-service man also there is an age relaxation of 5 years. |
