I have completed my second year B.Tech in CSE from NITK Surathkal with CGPA around 9 . I would like to know if I should opt for a job ( which I would normally get during campus placement ) or go for higher studies............... Also pls guide me ( for higher studies ) which courses can I take ?

There are so good course like:-
> M.TECH
> M.B.A

You can do any course you want. In which you are interested..
For admissions in top college for M.Tech you have to qualify the exam like
G.A.T.E, B.I.T.S.A.T etc.

For admissions in top M.B.A college you have e to qualify the exam like:-
C.A.T, MA.T, X.A.T..

Top college offering M.Tech course are:-

hi...i completed my btech in cse with 65.55%,and also finished ma 4 mnth mainframe training.i have good knowledge in rpgle.plz inform me if there any job openings for mainframe trained freshers

but am getting confussed wheather to do M.tech or MBA.

After completion of B.tech course in ECE stream, and you want to do courses to get a job.. For that you can do courses like-

For software sector jobs:-

1.Networking

2.JAVA

3.SP.NET

These are the important courses to get a software sector jobs..

For core sector jobs:-

1.Signal processing

2.Micro-controller

3.PLC

4.VLSI design

5.Embedded system.

You can go for any of them..

These are the courses will help you to get a job.

hiii,
since you are the honored electronic engineer , it is advisable you to give the CAT exam , as well as MAT exam ...since these two fields will suits you and will lead your future bright ....
but as per the present generation ... now a days marketing field is in more demand , so my advice for you to concentrate more on CAT n crack the CAT exam and study MBA marketing's , it will definetly will shine your future ..

if u r completed B.tech and scored good marks it's batter option is to prepare
for GATE for M.tech.
