Re: What is the future of MSc Biotechnology? dear friend, There is chance in so many chances for the jobs,otherwise you can go for Master degree. There ia an entrance exam Combined Biotechnology Entrance Examination(CBEE) for the admission to the following courses: M.Sc in Biotechnology M.Sc in Agriculture;Biotechnology & M.Tech in Biotechnology 1:M.Sc in Biotechnology,Eligibility: you should have a bachelor’s degree under 10+2+3 pattern with minimum 55% marks in one of the Physical, Biological, Agricultural, Veterinary & Fishery Sciences, or Pharmacy, or Engineering/Technology, or 4-Years B.S. (Physician Assistant course); or MBBS or BDS . 2:M.Sc in Agriculture;Biotechnology;Eligibility : you should have a bachelor’s degree under 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+5 pattern of education with minimum 55% marks or its equivalent grade point average from any recognized university. 3:M.Tech in Biotechnology,Eligibility: you should have the B.Tech/BE with minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade in any one of Chemical Engineering or Biochemical Engineering, or Industrial Biotechnology, or Leather Technology, or Chemistry/Biotechnology, or Biomedical Engineering, or B. Dear sir; students can choose from a wide variety of specializations: agricultural research, immunology, virology, protein engineering etc. There is a growing demand for people with a higher degree of specialization. It is also important to have right degree from right institute for best opportunities in the industry. The biotech sector alone employs over 25,000 scientists. Coupled with pharma this number has quadrupled in the last three years with the growing importance of R&D. The goal is to generate one million scientific and engineering jobs in the pharma-biotech sector by 2010. The students alternatively can take degree in law, management or journalism after a bachelor's or masters in biotechnology. There is a pressing need for intellectual property rights and trade mark specialists along with corporate communication and sales personnel. Private companies find it useful to employ someone with a background in biotechnology to comprehend and communicate complex technical issues. jobs After MSc. Biotechnology, u can opt u r career in Pharmaceutical Industry or in Clinical & Medical research side. ther are plenty of jobs fpr you. like Scientist postings in Public and Private Research Laboratories. Research Postings in Defence institutions . Public Sector Enterprises Jobs. Lecturers/School Teachers in Educational Institutions. Union Public service & State Public Service postings. All India Civil Services postings. Agro-industrial Jobs. In Pharmaceiutcal Industry &Clinical & Medical research , u have the designations like Research Associates, Scientists & Group Leaders. Drug Executive etc. As per the latest trends in globalization , u can get a job in BPO`s also as there r many customer care centers and online support centers started 4 Bio-Technology field also. |

Re: What is the future of MSc Biotechnology? Biotechnology has not developed upto the mark in India. From the past 5 years, it became common to everyone of saying Biotechnology is going to have good future. But, there was no change at all even now also. Biotechnology is still developing in India. The candidates who have completed Post Graduation in Biotechnology are unable to find the right job which match their profile even though they are having the subject knowledge and skills. These people are going to get jobs only in Quality control departments in Biotechnology laboratories and chemical laboratories, when in their job is to just test the quality of the solutions. For Formulations work, the companies are hiring B-Pharmacy candidates since B-Pharmacy candidates better know regarding formulations. Most of the Biotechnology candidates after completion of Graduation, due to lack of sufficient jobs, they are opting for Teaching profession. If you are interested to pursue Ph.D on Biotechnology, then opt for M.Sc in Biotechnology. Otherwise, go for MBA course with your interested specialization. |

Hi, As far as concerned my knowledge,after reding so many articles listed recently from The hindu,Times Of India, Competition Wizard etc , it is booming everyday. Also as far as I know or have read a lot of countries should be involving themselves in trying to advance in Biotechnology research.There is a lot of money in Cancer research, for example. Also biomaterials: joint impants, etc. And stem cell research- grow new body parts. There's a lot of research into cardiovascular disease, neurological degredation, etc. etc. Drug development is huge. Moving further out, patent law and intellectual property law are likely to remain a growth industry. For me, Biotechnology is really more of a passionate field. I always loved Biology and thought I would become a doctor but then I discovered genetics, and from there Molecular Biology which finally lead to Biotech. Believe it is headed in the direction of "personalized medicine" as people get their own genomes analyzed for a treatment/disease prevention/diet/lifestyle etc. suited specifically for their own health. These new technologies also allow for countless other studies in various other fields other than medicine as well. (evolution, comparative genomics, heredity, ecology, botany, environmental studies, forensics, counter-bioterrorism, ...and could probably list hundreds more) So don't worry about the future of bio-technology as it is already secure. Re: What is the future of MSc Biotechnology? there are two scope after Msc biotechnology either 1. you may go for further study to persure higher degree such as master of science in applied biotechnology,phd bio science,graduate diploma in pharma biotechnology,master of technology in biomedical engineering 2. or you may do job in agriculture industries, environmental industries, food processing industries, college and university, pharmaceutical companies , research laboratories. |
