Re: Preferable optional subjects in Civil Services Examination for ECE Graduates?

This will be so unlike all the posts above. I'm a student of dental science, just gave my second prof exams. I have ample of time which I waste fiddling with things that won't even matter to me in my future. I want to do something constructive and make a difference. I will be obliged if you can help me with the subjects that I should opt. I'm going to start all over again, taking it as a step where I have just planted a plant...and I wanna let it grow, bud, flower and give fruits.
Thank you!

hii

Preferable optional subjects in Civil Services Examination for ECE Graduates
This time UPSC pattern is changed and it is called as CSAT which is coming into effect from Civil Services Examination, 2011.and so there is no option subjects...
It consits of two paper and each paper of Two hrs..
(Paper 1) (200 marks) consists of
Current events.
History
Geography
Indian Polity and governance
Economic and social development
and General science.
It is of purely objective type and qualifying exam...
(Paper II) (200 marks)
Comprehension
Logical reasoning and analytical ability
Decision making and problem solving
General mental ability
Basic numeracy(Class X level)
English language comprehension skills (Class X level)
it is of purely subjective type and followed by interview....
Based on the overall ranking and your choice of cadre, you will be provided IFS (Indian Foreign Service), IAS or IPS. The higher your rank, the choice is with you.

good luck

Hello friend

as there are no options for the candidates in the entry level examination of CIVILS in this year as we are having change in the pattern ...

i.e. CSAT

all the candidates will have common syllabus..

if you want to forward into ...next level of examination..

then its a must and should to clear CSAT

after completing your CSAT successfully then here comes the optional subject selection..

i.e.

you can select subjects..

according to your interests..

in this optionals you will have an engineering related optional i.e.

electrical and electronics engineering..subject

you can take the benifit of this..

and many more optionals like thisl..

for any further details get into this link..

Re: Preferable optional subjects in Civil Services Examination for ECE Graduates?

First you clear the civil service prelim exam then start worrying about the mains.
It is very difficult to clear the prelim exam as many aspirants sit for it.

Anyway, since you have asked, let me tell you.
The following is a list of the optional subjects in CSAT:

Agriculture
Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science
Anthropology
Botany
Chemistry
Civil Engineering
Commerce and Accountancy
Economics
Electrical Engineering
Geography
Geology
History
Law
Management
Mathematics
Mechanical Engineering
Medical Science
Philosophy
Physics
P o l i t i c a l S c i e n c e a n d I n t e r n a t i o n a l
Relations
Psychology
Public Administration
Sociology
Statistics
Zoology

Being an ECE student, i suggest you can appear for the following optional subject:

Electrical Engineering,Political Science, Mathematics,Physics etc.

These subjects are pretty easy for an ECE student and does not need much preparation for it.
