Dear Friend,

The Institute Of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) and the State Bank Of India (SBI) mainly conducts the banking exams every year.

The banking Exams are conducted for the below mentioned posts :

a) Bank Clerical Post

b) Bank PO Post


The Common eligibility criteria required for Banking exams are :

* you must have completed graduation in any stream from any recognized college/university.

* you should have secured a minimum of 50% marks in graduation in order to be eligible for the IBPS PO Examination.

* Your age should lie in between 18-30 years if you belong to General Category.

* There is also a relaxation in upper age provided if you belong to Reserved Category.

* A Relaxation of 3 years in upper age is granted to OBC Candidates.

* Candidates from SC/ST Category are given an upper age of relaxation of 5 years.

* Number Of Attempts :

For General Category : 4

For OBC Category : 7

For SC/ST Category : No Limits

In India if you want to get job in PSU banks then you have to apply for following examinations:

-IBPS Examination( 20 PSU Banks)

-SBI Examination( Only for SBI and Its Associate Banks)

Eligibility for Bank PO and Clerk:

-Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University

-Must have Studied Computer as subject in Graduation or Course in Computer Fundamentals.

Age Limit:

For Bank PO age limit is 21 to 30 years.

For Bank Clerk 18 to 28 years.

The above age is for General Category. There will be age relaxation for other categories like OBC , SC/ST and PWD.

Examination Pattern:

The objective type paper will be there and you have to pass in every section seperately.There will be negative marks for wrong answers and that will be 0.25 mark.

Those who qualify paper will be called for Interview. The selection will be based on the merit list prepared on the basis of marks in the paper and interview.

Bank PO Exams:

1. IBPS CWE:

Age: 20 to 30 years

Education Qualification: A degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government

2. SBI and SBI Associate Banks:

Age: 21 to 30 years

Education Qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized college/ University

Bank Clerical Exams:


Age: 18 to 28 years

Education Qualification: A pass with 60% marks in the aggregate in SSC/ Matriculation

OR
A pass with 50% marks in HSC examination of 10+2 (10+2+3 pattern)

OR
A degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government

2. SBI and SBI Associate Banks:

Age : 18 to 28 years

Education Qualification: Minimum 12th Standard (10 + 2) or equivalent qualification thereof with a minimum of 60% marks

OR
Diploma Course passed after 10th Standard with a minimum of 60% marks

OR
A degree (Graduation level) from recognized university with a minimum of 40% marks

Common bank exam for the Clerk or PO job post has been conducted by the IBPS institute in which 19 banks participated for the job post under these banks based on the marks

Eligibility for the Common entrance exam:
1. you should be passed the 10th or 12th with atleast 55% marks from any recognized institute.
2. you should be passed the bachelor degree with atleast 60% marks from any recognized university.
3. age must be between the 21 to 30 years.
AGE relaxation :
5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC.

4. Indian citizen.

Sir...
You have not mentioned your current academic status, But there is a combined bank examination or commonly known as CWE (COMMON WRITTEN EXAMINATION) for the Posts of PO (PROBETIONARY OFFICER) & CLERKS examination in various banks, through which There are 19 banks are here, which recruite their corresponding PO & CLERKS posts through IBPS [INSTITUTE OF BANKING & PERSONNEL SELECTION] TEST .

The educational requirements for the BANK PO post are -


You must at least a graduation degree in any stream but from a recognized college,.

It would be better if you have scored at least 65% in your whole academic carrier.

It is pre-requisite to you that, you have knowledge of computer MS EXCEL, MS WORD, & OFFICE ,TALLY etc .


The age limit for this examination for the PO post is a 21-30 years for the GENERAL candidates,
21-33 years for the OBC candidates,
21-35 years for the SC\ST candidates,


You must have Indian nationality.


Educational requirements for CLERKS -

12th degree in any stream, you must have maths.

at least 60% is required in 12th (aggregate).

Age limit-

18-28 years,. with some years of age limit relaxation is applicable for the SC\ST\OBC\PH candidates,.

i have scored 59.15% including additional subject (total 6 subjects) in 12th cbse board exam , if i exclude the additional subject den my percentage comes to 65% (from 5 subject) , m i Eligible to write SBI Associate Banks Clerk oct 2012 exam

And also required age limit should be 18-34 years and here age relaxation is available for reserved category candidates as per govt rules like 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates.

Selection Procedure:

For requiting the above mention posts, you need to qualify the IBPS CWE entrance exam and this exam containing the 5 sections and each section containing the 50 questions for 50 marks and the 5 sections are given bellow.

  2. English Language
  3. Numerical Ability
  4. General Awareness
  5. Computer Knowledge
  6. Quantitative Aptitude
And here negative marking for every incorrect answers i,e reduced by 0.25 marks and here 1 mark for every correct answers and this exam is conducted every year two times and this score card will be valid only one year.

Basically the bank jobs are the two type:
1.clerical level
2.officer level

Eligibility criteria for the bank exams as follows:
1.Graduates
2.Post Graduates
3.CA's
4.MBA's

Age limit: 21-26 years
Anyone in the age group of 18-26 years having a degree is eligible for appearing in the written test.

Examination pattern:
Paper I is a written test comprising of General Mental Ability (Objective type).
Paper II is a subjective one which has English Essays/Comprehension/Precise writing etc.
Paper III is on Economics and Social problems.

Common Written Examination (CWE) is a common examination for bank Probationary Officer (PO) recruitment examination. Under this examination, 19 nationalised Indian banks conduct on a joint written test for which the eligibility eligibility is same at aggregate level but furthure it may vary as for individual bank.

Eligiblity for CWE : The candidate must be a male Indian candidate within the age limit of 20 to 30 years as on the date of examination. Along with this, the candidate must have a graduation degree from a recognised Indian University.

Extra qualification :

Common Bank examinations mainly include for the posts of Probationary Officers and Clerks.For the post of Clerk posts a candidate who have completed his 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of around 60% can attend.The age criteria varies from bank to bank but the common age criteria is from the age group of 18-25.For the posts of Probationary Officers the candidate must hold his/ her Degree of Graduation from a government recognized university with an aggregate of at least 55%.

I have mentioned the common eligibility criteria for every bank.Many banks hold bank examinations every year and the notifications are released in daily newspapers and the weekly journal "Employment News".The applications will be available in the bank which is conducting the examination.Hence please go through newspapers and websites to get information regarding bank examinations.
