Hi, Nice to see that you are interested to apply for NDA (National Defence Academy) which is conducted twice in a year namely NDA I and NDA II by UPSC. Yes, you are eligible for NDA at an age of 17 years as the age limit for NDA is 16.5 years to 19.5 years. ¤ The eligibility criteria for NDA is given below :- 1. The candidate must be an Indian. 2. The candidate must have passed the 12th class examination or any equivalent examination with a minimum of 60% marks. 3. The age limit is - 16.5 years to 19.5 years. Hope for your good future scope. Here is the details criteria about NDA : 1.Academic qualification : You must pass your 12th standard examination. 2.Age limitation : Your age must lie within 16.5 to 19 years. 3.Nationality : You must be a Indian citizen. 4.Eyesight criteria : You should have eyesight of 6/6. 5.Height factor : Your height must be minimum 165 cm. Here are the eligibility criteria for NDA examination : 1.Academic qualification : You should pass your 12th standard examination. 2.Age factor : Your age must be within 16.5 to 19 years of age. 3.Nationality : You must be an Indian. 4.Height factor : Your height should be minimum 165 cm. The forms for the exam shall be releasing on 31st December,2011 and the last date for form submission is 30th January,2012.. For appearing in the NDA exam..a candidate should satisfy the following minimum criterion first :- 1) You should be within the age limit of 16.5-19 years.. 2) You should have passed your 12th (with PCM if you wish to join Indian Air Force or Navy) You need to clear the written exam first..then the interview and then the medical examination.. Eligibility for NDA exam:- For Indian Army wing:- Candidate must have complete the 12th in any trade. Age - 16.5-19 years.. For Navy wing:- Candidate must have complete the 12th in science (PCM) with 60% aggregate. Age-16.5-19 years. For Air force wing:- Candidate must have complete the 12th in science (PCM)... Age-16.5-19 years. As you will be 17 years old at the time of appearing in the exam, then you are eligible.. All the best.. |

Hello, The qualification required to appear in NDA 2012- (For Indian Army)- *High school qualification from any stream or equivalent. *Age Limit:16.5-19 yr. (For Indian Navy and Indian Air Force)- *High school qualification with PCM,aggregate should be 55% or equivalent. *Age limit:16.5-19 yr. So, according to the above age related criteria you are eligible to appear in NDA'I' 2012. ~The notification will be released from 31 December 2011. ~Last date for submisson of forms-30 January 2012. ~Exam Date-15 April 2012. Definitely you can apply for NDA exam.National Defense Academy (NDA) exam is conducted by upsc twice in a year to intake qualified Candidate for different department in Defense service like Indian Airforce, Indian Navy,Indian Army etc. Eligibility criteria for NDA-I/NDA-II exam: Education qualification: Minimum candidate should complete 12th class with PCM stream. Age Limit: Age should be between 16 1/2 to 19 years. NDA-I exam notification for this year: Issue of application form from 31st Dec 2011 to 30th Jan 2012. Exam will held on 15th April 2012. |

The minimum eligible age to appear for the NDA exam is 16 1/2 years. As per your date of birth, the one you've mentioned, you are eligible to apply for the upcoming NDA exam which is going to be conducted on 15-04-2012. You should have passed class 12th from a recognized board or university with a minimum 50% aggregate in your 10+2. 3. You should have studied science with maths as its compulsory for the Air Force and Naval wings of the Army. 4. Your age should be between 16.5 to 19 years. Since you are 17 years, therefore you are surely eligible to write the NDA exam. IMPORTANT DATES :: 1. Date of Notification : October 2011 2.  NDA Examination Information. NDA is stand for the National Defence Academy. The NDA examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in every year for the admission in the Army, Navy and Air Force wing of the NDA. This exam is conducted twice by UPSC in every year once in the April month and other in the August month which is known as NDA(1) and NDA(2) examination respectively. If you are interested in the defence field and want to apply for the NDA examination then you need following eligibility criteria. Eligibility Criteria for NDA Examination. ->For Army wing :- Pass 12th class with any stream from a recognize board. ->For Navy & Air Force Wing :~ pass 12th class with physics ans mathematics as the main subject. ->The age must be between 16 1/2 to 19 years. Physical Standard for the NDA Examination.   This are the basic eligibility criteria for the NDA examination. As per your question if you have 17 years old then according to age criteria you are eligible for the upcoming NDA examination. The notification for the upcoming NDA examination will be comes on 31th December 2011. and the NDA & NA (1) - 2012 examination will be held on 15th April 2012.
