To became an officer in Merchant Navy You have to complete 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 60% marks within age group of 20years or B. Sc. with 55% marks within age of 22years or Graduate engineer within age of 24 years. |

Re: Can I join Merchant Navy after completion of 12th Science? dear friend,  Eligibility norm for the Merchant Navy:- 1)Candidate should have Indian nationality. 2)Their age must be between 18-42 yrs on 25.02.11 3)should have Graduate from any recognize university. 4)The employed person who is working in central govt. /own business/private sector/semi govt. must have Pay and allowances and privileges. For Merchant Navy the Selection Procedure:- 1. Preliminary Interview Boards held at respective TA Group Headquarters . 2. SSB Interview 3. Medical & Police Verification. For that you give entrance exam JEE if you get a good rank in this exam then you are eligible for admission in college. Re: Can I join Merchant Navy after completion of 12th Science? there r 2 ways 2 join merch navy score 60 % and crack iit jee and get admission to tns chanakya otherwise u can join merchant navy course in following cadres engine rating deck rating saloon rating u can do the corse from maritime shipping institutes of dehi,mumbai,goa or join for job as vacancy are out time to time after induction for job they impart training best of luck |

To become a merchant navy officer, one needs to be atleast 10+2 or a diploma holder...but you must have scored more than 60% in PCM in 12th board...............so if you want to go for MERCHANT navy you can......... There will be 2 year course for Diploma Holders and successful completion you will be join merchant in either of departments
Age limit is depends on the basic qualification based on that you want to join merchant navy..
