Re: What is the eligibility criteria for IES entrance exam? hello dear, Indian Engineering Services (IES) examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in every year. The IES examination is generally conducted in the month of June in every year eligibility criteria for exam if u got the bachelor degree from Civil Engineering,Mechanical Engineering,Electrical engineering or Electronics and Communication Engineering the age limt- 21 to 30 years the application form from 25th Feb 2012 to 24th March 2012. Once every year UPSC conducts IES(Indian Engineering Service) exam for recruitment of engineers in the top technical post under Central Govt. Civil/Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics & Telecommunication Dept. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR IES EXAM:- -The candidate must be an Indian National. -Should have either appear for the final B.Tech. Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University. -Should be within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for SC/ST candidate up to 5 years and for OBC candidate up to 3 years. The aspiring candidate from any stream can apply for IES but has to write on any one of the subject branch from Civil/Electrical./Mechanical/Electronics & Telecommunication. This are the engineering services which meet the technical and managerial function of Indian Government. This examination is considered to be the most toughest examination due to less number of seats. numerous of candidates take the examination. the examination is conducted once in a year. the eligibility criteria are 1)the candidate must have completed the engineering in any of the following streams from a disciplined university: I)Mechanical Engineering; II)Electrical Engineering; III)Civil Engineering; IV)Electronic and Communication Engineering. the final year students are also eligible. Even if you belong to any other stream of engineering you are eligible to apply but you should select any one of the given four department. 2)Age Limitation- for general candidates the age must be between 21-30 years for OBC candidates the age must be between 21-33 years for SC/ST candidates the age must be between 21-35 years. for more detail you can check the official website http://www.upsc.gov.in |

Date of UPSC Engineering Services Exam 2012 Notifications: 25th Feb' 2012. Last Date For UPSC Engineering Services application form submission: 26th March' 2012 (Monday). Date of UPSC Engineering Services Entrance Commencement: UPSC Enggg Services admission test will be conducted on 15th June'2012 (Friday) & duration will be of 3 days. IES Exam Eligibility Criteria:- 1) Age Limit:- 21-30 years on the first day of august of the year of examination. 2) Educational Qualifications:- Applicable for the engineering graduates who have already completed or who are in last year. but last year students are required to produce the proof of passing engineering degree. IES Exam Selection Procedure:- 1) Written Exam:- Consist of 5 papers of 200 marks each. 2) Personality Interview: who have qualified in written test will be called for personal interview where their personality will be judged, the personality interview will be of 200 marks.
