Graduate entry - permanent commission .exam - CDS examination in the month of february and september needed a degree of a recognized university 2. NCC special entry -permanent commission NCC cadets has to pass the written exam conducted by upsc. 3. Direct Entry permanent commission selection is based on ssb interview |

You can join Indian Army through Combined Defence Service exam as a commissioned Officer after graduation. Selected candidate is given training in Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy as the case may be. You can join India Army through University Entry Scheme in your 3rd year or final year Engineering and after completion of graduation in engineering through Technical Graduate Scheme. |

In both the cases you can be posted as a captain. and also you can apply for Combined Defence Services examination as a regular/short service commissioned officer..
Short service is for 5 years and after completion of 5 years either you can resign or opt for an extension for five years or a permanent commission. |
