Re: Career prospects after post graduate diploma in Ophthalmology as u said we can join government medical college after DO. but its not possible they cant become assistant professors. and tutor seats r already dissolved. in newer medical colleges now they are not taking tutors. so job after DO is difficult..plz give advise..wht to do? if dnb can become assistant professors then why not DO candidates ? plz give advise |

You can do further studies like Phd or even can join Govt or private eye clinics. To start your professional career you can set up your own eye clinic where you can do the treatments and as well as join the senior ophthalmologist for good knowledge. Best of luck.. |

You may get 15000+ salary in any government hospitals and 25000+ in private hospitals and nursing homes. You may also go for Phd in Ophthalmology as you proceeds to research field and become a scientist in this field. So this field had lots of career prospect,just select a right path for your career. There are also chances for you to join Govt medical colleges or private institutes as an ophthalmologist or eye specialist. For an ophthalmologist,in the private sector the salary range is higher than that in the Govt sector. All the best! |

Opthalmologists major work involves of Inspection and cure of Eyes. And for that purpose prescribing Spectacles upto surgery al ar einvolve. You have'nt mentioned what type of PG diploma you have done after your graduation, so that I can explaing you more. However, if we talk about salary then a Opthalmologists can expect anything between 8,000-12,000 at starting level in government sector, where as 20,000-30,000 in private sector. Regards ~Faiyaz~ |
