HI,
You can't join Defence after passing 12th without qualifying N.D.A exam.
N.D.A. Exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice.

Eligibility criteria for N.D.A exam:-
> Pass 12th with any stream from recognized board.
> Age limit should be above 16.5year and below 19 year.
> Must be citizen of India
> Medically fit (no major surgery)

There are three stages of selection:-
> Written Exam
> Interview
> Medical exam

If you want you can apply after passing graduation.
After graduation you have to qualify the Combine Defence Services Exam.

HI,
If you want you can become army officer without qualifying N.D.A exam.

If you pass 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Maths with minimum 75% marks from Recognized University or board.

Then you can apply for Technical Entry.
For this you have to qualify the interview conducted by Service Selection Board
(S.S.B).

dear friend,
After completion of 12th class the only way to join in Indian Army is NDA exam..
Without appearing in NDA exam you will not be able to join in ARMY wing.

If you do not want to want to appear in NDA exam, then go for graduation course first.
After which you can apply for CDS exam.
Through CDS exam you will be able to join in Indian Army..

So, go for graduation first.
All the best.

Re: Can I become Army Officer without applying for NDA Exam after completion of 10+2?

Hi

NDA stands for National Defense Academy and it is an exam conducted by the UPSC to select candidates for the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.

NDA holds exam for the HS pass candidates right after the 12th boards are finished. Without that you will not become an officer in the Indian Army.

You would have to apply for a lower grade exam, which the 10th pass students apply for and it is basically to recruit soldiers (not officers).

However if you do not want to apply for the NDA right after your 12th, then you can do your graduation and then apply for it.

NDA 2 is the exam for you after graduation. You should be a graduate in any science stream with a minimum 60% aggregate in it, and your age should be between 21-25 years.

Also you should be physically fit.

This exam is held in the month of August, and you may apply for it once you are through with your graduation.

Re: Can I become Army Officer without applying for NDA Exam after completion of 10+2?

Hello,
Yeah, you can join Indian Army as on officer Rank, But not just after 10+2.You can join Indian Army after qualifying CDS (Combined Defence Services), conducted by UPSC twice in a year i.e. February & Mid September.
Following are the minimum qualification to appear in CDS-
*For Indian Military Academy(only unmarried male candidates):
¤Graduation with any stream or equivalent from affiliated university.
¤Age limit: 19-24 yr.
*For Naval & Air force:
¤Graduation with, one paper of either Mathematics or Physics/BE.
¤Age limit:19-23yr.
*For officers training academy (unmarried or married male candidate):
¤Graduation in any stream or equivalent from affiliated institute.
¤Age limit: 19-25 yr.
Although, if you have NCC 'C' certificate, then you have option to skip the exam & can qualify directly for Interview.
So, for officer rank in Army you must be a Graduate.Just after 10+2, you may get soldier rank in Indian Army.
For more information on CDS you can visit the official site of UPSC-www.upsc.gov.in
Ok, best of luck.
