Re: What to do after B.Tech. in EEE, GATE or GRE or Job? Would it be a problem if I have less than 60% in B.Tech.?

Hi,
I would like to know whether a 2 years drop after btech affect your chances in getting placed in PSUs like IOCL, NTPC? If I have done any job (not related to my field) , will it count as work experience?
My profile
B.E. EEE 79% | 12th 85% | 10th 86%.
I'm not interested in joining an IT company.
Due to some family issues my GATE preps have been affected. I'm planning to re-appear for GATE 16.

I think you have completed you bachelor degree in EEE with 60% of marks. Then you try for job.If won't get any job.My suggestion is to write GATE exam.Do well in the gate and get admission into MTech.Once you have completed you MTech you may get few more chances than before. Some of companies are selecting the students based on their gate score. So based on your gate score also you apply for job.

If you get good jobs then you should go for it because you will gain some experience and if not then you can prepare for GATE and get good rank and then also you will be eligible for good jobs or you can do mtech.

Dear Aspirant,

That may be a problem because many colleges in the Abroad are asking for a good percentage if you are selecting a reputed college.

If you go to gre you cannot go for the best colleges. But you can go for the normal colleges. But with your percentage you cannot get a good percentage.

Coming to Gate exam. Here you have a chance of getting a seat or job. That is only based on the GATE score. So if you get a good score then you get a seat in good college or a good job.If you applied for any companies which are tied up with the gate score.

So these will be the choices. But i am suggesting you not to go for job with these percentile since you wont get anything from it.

Even if you get you will be having a normal job with very less salary. So there is a chance if you do a mtech then you will have a good chance of getting job options after the mtech.

So do follow my words you'll get a good success.Good luck.

Hope this info helps you.

All the best for your future endeavor's.

Hi friend!
its good that you have started planning about your future before hand...
you have done exceptionally well in your studies...
well if you have a dilemma in choosing whether to write GATE or go for placement i can tell you that its depend entirely on you...
if you prefer to work for 1 or 2 year looking at your financial situation you can opt to work...but if you have great interest to continue your study further and go for research then writing GATE will be of great success...
my opinion is that you better prepare for both...it is always great feeling that you have so many choices in the end...
and ya if you are interested in doing MS abroad then you can also start preparing for GRE and any of the english proficiency test like TOEFEL/IELTS....
wish you all the best friend.....
have a great success.......
thank you

Re: What to do after B.Tech. in EEE, GATE or GRE or Job? Would it be a problem if I have less than 60% in B.Tech.?

dear friend,
As you have secure less than 60% aggregate in B.tech course then you will not be eligible to apply for PSU jobs..

You can go for GRE or GATE exam..

GER is for doing higher studies from foreign universities..

GATE is an entrance exam for M.tech course..

Now you decide what you want to do..

If you have interest in doing higher studies from foreign universities then go for GRE exam.
To appear in GRE exam one must have secure 50% aggregate through out the graduation.

To appear in GATE exam no such percentage of aggregate is required..
After completion of B.tech course you can go for GATE exam..

All the best.

Hi,

you are eligible only for some companies as your percentage is not upto the mark.

It is better to go with the gate.

But as gate is conducted through out the India you have to face tough competition.

work hard all the very best.....

low % you can not achieve the good GATE Rank generally..but if u really interested in doing M.Tech and work hard seriously for 3 months it will be easy to get good rank in GATE.

with this low % getting a job is also difficult....... but if u get a chance with good salary go for it.......

GRE: if u are having sufficient money to study in USA or any another country it will be easy to get a rank in GRE........THE thing needed here is money.......

minimum 60% is criteria for good companies

it is better to go for higher studies or you go for management side like CAT
