Yes, you can apply for NDA being an arts candidate but can apply for the Army wing only (out of three wings available i.e. Indian, Air Force; Indian Army; and Indian Navy) The Basic Eligibility Criteria's for the NDA are : 1. You should be an Indian National and Unmarried Male Candidate. 2. You must have passed class 12th from a recognized school or state board securing atleast 50% aggregate in it. 3. Your age should be within 16.5 to 19 years. No relaxations 4. You should have studied Maths and Physics is you wish to apply for the Indian Navy or IAF. |

Re: Can an arts student write NDA exam after 12th? PCM is a must to apply for NDA. The eligibility criteria for NDA is given below : 1. The candidate must be an Indian. 2. The candidate must have passed the 12th class examination or any equivalent examination with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate with physics, chemistry and mathematics. 3. The age limit is 16.5 to 19.5 years. Hope for your good future scope. Hi NDA stands for the National Defense Academy and it is an entrance exam which is conducted by the UPSC every year to select candidates for the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. The Basic Eligibility Criteria's for the NDA are : 1. You should be an Indian National and Unmarried Male Candidate. 2. You must have passed class 12th from a recognized school or state board securing atleast 50% aggregate in it. 3. Your age should be within 16.5 to 19 years. No relaxations 4. You should have studied Maths and Physics is you wish to apply for the Indian Navy or IAF. Now as per your question, I am really sorry to say that no arts student can apply for the NDA exam. Its because it is a science stream exam. However if you have studied arts, then first of all you must complete your graduation in some stream and then later you can apply for the NDA 2 exam. NATIONAL DEFENSE ACADEMY(NDA) NDA is the entrance exam conducted every year twice a time by UPSC.NDA-I and NDA-II are the two exams conducted every year.As NDA exam is very tough exam so you need to work very hard in your present time subjects.It does not matter whether you are from science or arts stream,any stream students can apply for it.To apply you need to buy NDA form from a saler.Its form is not costly.So now you must complete your 12th standard with good percentage and then apply for NDA exam.Here i am providing you eligiblity criteria for NDA exam. ELIGIBLITY-You must be 12th passed in any stream with minimum 50 percent marks.Your age must be 16.5-19 years of age. |

But you must have maths in 12th,. as maths is the core subjects of NDA examination.so, you can appear for the NDA examination. although you can not apply for the NAVAL & AIR FORCE WING, as for apply in these , you must have subject physics & maths in 12th the age limit for this examination is 16.5-19 years. You must have indian nationality. Exam pattern-

The eligibility criteria for the same is as under- 1. Candidate must be a 12th pass from Arts stream 2. Only Unmarried Male candidates Between the age of 16.5 to 19 Years can apply. 3. You must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease and minimum acceptable height is 157.5 cms. Mode of selection- Candidate must appear in NDA Exam by UPSC and SSB interview Course is commenced in the month of January & July. |

Re: Can an arts student write NDA exam after 12th? Yes. An arts student is eligible to appear in NDA exam after 12th. But you cannot join in Navy or Airforce. Because the requirements for the candidates to appear in NDA is that you must have finished your 12th std and your age must be above 19 and below 21. In addition to that you must have taken science as your stream in 12th std to appear in NDA and join in Navy or Airforce. Thus if you are ready to join in Army you can appear for NDA exam. |

The NDA stands for National Defence Acadamy and this examination is conducted by UPSC,twice in a year and to apply for this examination you have to complete your 12th examination from areconised Board,Final year candidates are also apply for NDA Examination.The science background candidates are eligible. Sorry to say that the arts students are not eligible for NDA Examination. |

But you have to fulfill some eligibility criteria before appearing in NDA exam. Eligibility for NDA exam:- For Army wing:- 1.Candidate must have complete the 12th in any trade or its equivalent course.. 2.Age should be in between 16.5-19 years. 3.Candidate must be physically fit. 4.Candidate must be a citizen of India. These are the eligibility criteria you have to fulfill. So, if your age is in between 16.5-19 years, then you can apply for the exam.
