Procedure of becoming an income tax officer * The SSC conducts Income tax officer examination only once in a year. * Candidates should get graduation from a recognized university. * Age limit must be within 18 to 27 years. * The examination consists of Preliminary exam, Main exam and interview. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts Income Tax Officer examination every year, So you can appear for SSC examination. So to eligible for becoming Income Tax Officer, You should Hold a bachelor degree of any stream from a recognised univeristy. And your age should between 18 to 27 years. The Uppear age relaxation is only applicable for SC/ST Candidates for 5 Years and For OBC Candidates by 3 years. The Notification was publishedin the employment newspaper And you have to appear for 2 examination - preliminery examination and Main Examination And if you will clear both the examination then you have to appear for Final Interview and then you will become Income Tax Officer. The Paper of Income Tax Officer will be covered these areas - General Intelligence, General English, Arithmetical Ability and General Awareness. So please prepare for this examination according to the syllabus. So, please dont worry after completing your B.com, You are eligible to apply for SSC examination to become a Income Tax Officer.
