Indian Institute of space science and technology conducts IISAT entrance exam in various cities across in India.
This entrance test is given by those institutes who wants to get admission in engineering.


To prepare for ISAT Entrance Test, a student should study the syllabus of 11th and 12th standard consists with the science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Physics:

Properties of Matter, Thermodynamics, Optics and Waves, Electromagnetism, Mechanics and laboratory related questions.

Chemistry:
Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, environmental chemistry, biomolecules, chemistry in every day life and polymers.

Mathematics:
Statistics and Probability, Trigonometry, Vector Algebra, Matrices and Determinants, Three Dimensional Geometry, Co-Ordinate Geometry, Integral Calculus, Limit, Continuity and Differentiability, Sets, Relations and Functions, Permutations and Combinations, Complex Numbers and Quadratic Equations.

You read NCERT thoroughly for MATHS and CHEMISTRY and for physics u should read Russian books translated to english.

Eligibility

Candidates must make sure that they satisfy all the eligibility conditions given below for appearing in ISAT-2011:

1. Citizenship

Only Indian citizens are eligible to write ISAT-2011.

2. Date of Birth

The date of birth of candidates belonging to GEN, OBC categories should be on or after October 1, 1986, while the date of birth of those belonging to SC, ST and PD categories should be on or after October 1, 1981.

(The date of birth as recorded in the high school/first Board/ Pre-University certificate/or its equivalent will be accepted).

3. Year of passing Qualifying Examination (QE)

A candidate must have passed the QE ( 10 + 2 ) for the first time, in the calendar year 2010 or 2011. Those who are going to appear in the QE after July 1, 2011 or expecting the results of QE later than July 1, 2011 are not eligible to apply for ISAT-2011.

4. Minimum Percentage of Marks in Class X or equivalent examination.

Candidates belonging to GEN and OBC categories must secure at least 70% marks in aggregate in their Class X or equivalent examination, while, those belonging to SC, ST and PD categories must secure at least 60% marks in aggregate in their Class X or equivalent examination.

5. Minimum Percentage of Marks in 10 + 2 or equivalent examination

Candidates belonging to GEN and OBC categories must secure at least 70% marks in the aggregate in their Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) papers in their QE, while, those belonging to SC,ST and PD categories must secure at least 60% marks in the aggregate in their PCM papers in their QE.

6. RESERVATION OF SEATS

As per Government of India rules candidates belonging to certain categories are admitted to seats reserved for them based on relaxed criteria. These categories are:

* Scheduled Castes (SC)

* Scheduled Tribes (ST)

* Other Backward Castes (OBC) belonging to Non-Creamy Layer (NCL)

* Physically Disabled (PD) candidates.

Exam Pattern

The ISAT exam consists of multiple choice questions. The candidate has to select the right answer from the four options provided. The candidate has to answer for all questions in two sessions. The duration of each session is two hours. The questions are from chemistry, physics and mathematics. There is negative marking so candidates need to be careful not to attempt unsure questions. The candidates will loose one mark for the same. The questions and instructions are only in English.

Syllabus of ISAT

The candidate should study the following areas for Physics:

Thermodynamics
Properties of matter
Electromagnetism
Optics and waves
Mechanics and laboratory related questions

For chemistry, they have to cover

Physical Chemistry
Organic Chemistry
Environmental Chemistry
Inorganic chemistry

For maths, the candidate should study

Trigonometry
Vector Algebra
Statistics and probability
Matrices and determinants
Limit, sets, relations and functions
Binomial theorem etc.

>> Examination patter is of objective type that include three subjects
• Physics
• Chemistry
• Mathematics

>> Syllabus of Physics : Physics include Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Optics and Wave, Thermodynamics and Properties of matter.

>> Syllabus of chemistry : Chemistry involves three main part that are Inorganic chemistry, Organic chemistry and Physical chemistry.

>> Syllabus of Mathematics : Syllabus of Mathematics is little a bit lengthy and consist of sets, relation and function, complex numbers, quadratic equation, mathematics induction, binomial theorem, sequence and series, differentiation and it application, integration, limits, coordinate geometry, matrix and probability.

>> Notification for ISAT is generally come in month of Dec.. For more detail about application form, visit www.iist.ac.in
